    Error 2002 Occurrence From Issues With the Player's Internet Connection

    Currently, most of the reports we have been receiving about Error 2002 are to do with this issue. The reason for this is that, as a result of longer queues and more time spent in the queue, there is an increased likelihood of issues occurring in relation to the player’s internet connection. In most cases, this is considered to be caused by packet loss on the internet route or instability from the Wi-Fi connection in the player's internet environment.

    Even if you are temporarily disconnected due to Error 2002 at times of such instability, the lobby server will continue to wait for a few tens of seconds to a minute for your connection to be restored. If you are able to get back online and reconnect to the lobby server quickly, you will be able to queue up again from the middle of the queue. After a certain amount of time, the connection will be completely lost, and you will have to join the end of the queue.

    Currently, this occurrence of Error 2002 seems to be causing the biggest troubles for our players, so if it's possible for you to use a hard-wired internet connection, please consider switching to it instead of using Wi-Fi. If you are playing on the PlayStation®4 or PlayStation®5 version, please also check your settings related to power saving.

    I would like to express my deepest apologies for having to ask this of you but unfortunately this is a result of the increased access to our service. It would be greatly appreciated that you consider and check about these possibilities, so that you can avoid connection instability as much as possible and benefit from a stable playing experience.



    My response to this is that the user's internet connection is not the issue here. I'm hardwired and there is no packet loss from the internet provider side as you have been given trace routes in this forum that the drops are from your side of the equation which is NTT and was that way the last time this happened. Please correct the issue and quit blaming our connections for the issue. This is a lie and it's already frustrating enough with everything going on. Where is the extension on game time considering the issues still persist after the 7 days that you guys talked about extending? We are paying for a service so with this long congestion and still the disconnects additional compensation for the lack of game time and access to play needs to be added. Please check with you backbone of NTT and get the issues on your side fixed so we are not getting the 2002 errors as it is over on your end. I do work for a major internet provider in the US and have been monitoring to see if anything is causing an issue on the internet side which is why I can confidently point this back your direction where you are trying to blame our providers. Not true, so get it fixed guys!

    So that does make sense there is most likely some kind of similar operation for connectivity while in game also that has little fault tolerance. If your analysis is solid then the problem with their upstream provider is exasperating the issue (2002 and 90xxx) or perhaps better wording is making the poorly written network code far more obvious. If it does in fact only make that one attempt all it takes is for that packed to be sent when the famous NTT router that is giving people issues starts dropping packets. My network tests indicate that thing is very unstable. With an average of 10% loss over pretty much every 15 minute interval over the last 48 hours but when broken down into smaller intervals there are 60 second periods with loss in the 60 - 95% range. That much loss would even test some more tolerant well written net code.

    To be honest if SE would actually acknowledge and at least put some of the fault where it belongs with their upstream provider this would be a lot better. My company runs multiple DC's across the globe. We have terminated contracts with bandwidth providers for far less. They have to be in violation of their contract and SLA at this point. Of course SE has to acknowledge this, point it out, and hold them accountable.

    Thank you so much for this, I thought I was going crazy assuming the problem is from their side and not mine.
    It will become exceedingly difficult if they don't address these issues. Even the most patient person will become angry and frustrated, this adds so much stress as is now. Waking up at 4 AM to play the MSQ in peace before work is retarded as hell.

    That document has a major flaw, as the poster of it is testing only his connection. Not the connection of others so it does not eliminate your own ISP as being the problem. Simply confirms the client issue which SE also confirmed themselves.

    Only two people can confirm if your connection is the issue YOU AND SE!!! Not joe blow the internet bro

    I have tested my connection and i got the same results.



    The client shuts down the connection roughly every 15 minutes.

    Yup, I thought the same myself. They are "looking into other possible issues" but really they seem to be keeping away from these issues. I know it's not my connection and people have shown much data to support it not being the users connection at all.

    Exact same thing with the 90002/3/6 errors. Start sending support tickets with that google doc attached and keep this thread up so everyone sees this.

    I would also like to state that I find the lack of 2002 error resolution unacceptable. I am also using cable internet connections and I am unable to play the game if I do not sit for 3 hours watching and guarding the queue. I do not have that kind of time and as a paying customer I deserve a resolution to the problem or free game time till you resolve the problem.
