Like I said "Something is jacked up in their head". I feel like to even give a penny to Blizzard is saying it is OK to grab on women's breast and ass in the workplace. I think this is sick as hell.

I cannot and will not play any of Blizzard's games. Just cause I am a man does not mean I consent to this type of behavior and will not in any way support it. Their nasty ass needs to learn a thing or two about how to treat women appropriately. So until they do, I want nothing to do with them at all.

Personally to me WoW felt alienating. It was too big, too old, and thus amongst other players you would never be anything. Just another face in the crowd. While FFXIV you're also 'just another player' it feels like you're actually someone, amongst the story, amongst your friends, amongst the world of other players.

I agree with what you said, but for me, the far bigger problem was the long-running trend of incorporating more and more elitism into the system. This game actually rewards you for running content with first-time players while farming your endgame gear currency. WoW actively penalizes you for it. They've gone above and beyond this past year, going so far as to incorporate a rating system for your character into the game to make it even easier for players in the game to exclude each other from their runs. As long as WoW continues to double down on that trend, they're going to continue to decline, and FFXIV will continue to ascend simply by having the same type of end game gearing system that WoW had at the peak of its success.

For me, it all boils down to the vast discrepancy between the two game directors' philosophies.

I think that if players are looking at mythic raiders doing, you know, multiple times their damage, frankly, that's a skill issue.

Then the next suggestion comes up: Make an official ACT built into the game. We've always said we will not do that. Those are two completely different issues. That system will be the root of bullying.

WoW died years ago, people just clung to it. Even if WoW released a good expansion I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole. Disgusting Dev team aside, the amount of content, key storyline, relics, mounts and minions they've straight up deleted over the years or attached to 6 month subs to create their FOMO effect make it pointless to even consider going back if you want to dedicate to an MMO. There's far too much you'll just never get. Plus they'd have to redesign the entire game at this stage. Too much treadmills, facebook mission tables, pathfinders, rush to endgame, the faction split and other ingrained aspects of the game that just ruin it. It's beyond repair.

I'd rather FF14 just got servers (and tank/heal designers). The launch is a shambles. The expansion itself is brilliant.

Ah, storyline... Where they keep making excuses for the Horde constantly attempting Genocide and them doing retcon after retcon for Sylvanas. The latest retcon is purely disgusting as they rush to try and justify her and excuse all the bad things she has done. WoW also has an issue of making evil women all "insane" and "emotional" to justify them being evil. It's pretty sexist. Like... Why can't evil female characters just be evil? Why do they need an excuse to make them "sympathetic"?

Look at how every time Jaina "went evil" it was due to "insanity" and being "emotionally compromised". They also say that her wanting revenge on the Horde is "evil" when they literally nuked her home and Sylvanas unleashed another plague and was caught experimenting on the Alliance and torturing people.

As someone who was playing WoW before FF14 1.0 came out and started since 1.0 and been playing FF14 since (also WoW) where do I stand?

They also have a bad habit of making Female characters go "Evil" via mind control from a Dude.

The recent scandal's kinda makes me question this more now.

The biggest difference is how different the TOS is and how its enforced, the FF14 playerbase is known to be trigger happy with reports for even minor things.

The difference is that you have many more ways to get a set of good end game gear in FFXIV without having to set foot in one of those raids that you're talking about. There is no incentive to exclude people from alliance raids or even leveling dungeons in the roulette. Imagine being stuck in the gear that you got from finishing the MSQ unless you're willing to repeatedly run high end content (10 runs per week to unlock three chances at loot) that you're not even allowed to queue for. I know some players in all games will always be elitist, and those are the players who tend to gravitate towards the extreme raids. However, in FFXIV, the rewards for behaving that way don't go beyond exclusive mounts, glamours, and titles. WoW, on the other hand, has built their entire endgame around the elitist culture.
