Did you even read the doc?It's not that they're refusing to "take responsibilty". It's that SquareEnix does not have responsibility for every hop packets take from your home to their servers. Their responsibility is their servers. If the servers are functioning properly, it's not their "fault". It's unfair to ask of them to take responsibility of something that isn't under their control.
He basically showed that the connection is accepted but they still kick you. Not sure if this is supposed a ddos mitigation mechanism, but it is just taking a big toll on their customers.
