You're kidding right? FFXIV dev team isn't sexually harassing women or stealing breast milk. You're not being scammed, It's just an unfortunate event that's happening due to the worldwide chip shortage affecting multiple businesses.
That is exactly what it is a quick fix because their servers would crash due to the influx of people attempting to queue at the same time or waiting in the queue.
It's a tough situation, and I'm pretty sure their IT team is doing everything possible to keep the servers up because it can be extremely costly if the servers crashed and no one would be able to login.

This "quick fix" makes no sense when you want to relieve a server from too many connections. It makes the things even worse because when you reestablish a connection then this costs slightly more ressources than keeping a connection alive. I have read an argument that this behavior could fix some home routers which shutdown a connection when there is almost no activity on a network port. This argument makes sense to me even i have never heard of it that routers do such things.
But this behavior of the game client should be configurable. I mean, you should be able to switch it off. And there should be a proper reconnect functionality. If the lobby server is full then the client should wait 10 seconds and then try again. And that multiple times.
Cheers
It's not that they're refusing to "take responsibilty". It's that SquareEnix does not have responsibility for every hop packets take from your home to their servers. Their responsibility is their servers. If the servers are functioning properly, it's not their "fault". It's unfair to ask of them to take responsibility of something that isn't under their control.

He basically showed that the connection is accepted but they still kick you. Not sure if this is supposed a ddos mitigation mechanism, but it is just taking a big toll on their customers.

The client itself disconnects every 15 minutes. So i highly doubt that this is an anti (D)DoS feature. I am a software developer and for me it looks like a quick & dirty solu ... "solution" to make things running.

Que 364 disconnected now 5804 in que. This is a joke. The need to get a option to pause our sub. They cant blame Covid19 all the time. Its more worst know when it was the ddos attack. Its not help us if they just feel sad about they need to do something about this or they will loose all there trust. Its They need more server capacity. This its not new to them its have been this for a long time before Covid. I dont blame them for package loss but when people need to sit 8-12 hours in que its there problem.
They are 100% responsible for choosing NTT as a business partner. If NTT is causing issues for their playerbase (which they are) then they need to tell them to fix shit or find a new partner. Which they wont, because that might cost them money. It's not that they're refusing to "take responsibilty". Actually, it is within their control as it is their server host on these hops and they can reach out to them. If it weren't for that being the case I would have never asked them to take responsibility. As a provider it is your responsibility to contact that server host to find out why your customers are losing packets or dropping, so yes it is reasonable to expect this in the current circumstance. It's not that they're refusing to "take responsibilty".
