Official Response to Congestion (as of Dec. 11)

All good, my official response is unsubbed by dec 28th unless its fixed by then, ill be off till it is. Im not even mad at SE honestly. I'm mad at the players and community. When you get logged in and run through a town like limsa and see tons of obvious afk people... the gamer community is terrible. The problem cant even rest 100% on SE. Honestly i think it would be funny if SE did rolling zone resets randomly on cities to force everyone off in the zone with a 2 to 3 minute warning to clear the zone. I dont care who this antagonizes. Its evident the aether community of afks dont care either anyway. I blame this generation of bad parrenting and kids that can do whatever they want and get away with it.

I dont need luck, i just need afk people to log off and be respectful but these days respect is hard to find. Some of us work 100+ hours a week and still spend time with family. Before you think I'm lying do some research on how many hours EMS often work. What little time we are able to play shouldnt be spent in a que. No one should be waiting in a 3000+ que anyway. The "don't log out" hyperbole is literally a part of the problem. Anyone afking for longer than 30 min using mouse click programs, bots, or scripts are the lowest pieces of trash in the community spectrum currently and I mean that whole heartedly. We need a "just logout campaign", the longer you are logged out for the rest of this month, the more free time you get. Reward doing the right thing.

I'm probably not going to unsub since I've been able to play some early in the morning and late at night (I got in with only a 36 queue at 9 AM today, once in a lifetime chance) but I share the sentiment. Queue times would definitely be half what they are now if people didn't feel entitled to no queue time at all, or if multiboxers didn't idle all 20 of their accounts at the same time.

Time will tell what the timeline will be, but if they don't have a fix or solution for the servers or AFKers by Christmas, they're going to fall behind big time. Christmas is when a lot of people buy/get the expansions, so if they log in Christmas evening to a 4k queue that's going to be terrible for PR.
