A lot of people starting playing tanks with ShB. You just don't see them crying all day on the forums. The tank playerbase is still going strong, even if you don't like it.

Yeah, so strong that when I play tank I get matched in party in less than 5 seconds average, im surprised it doesnt happen as well on my dps jobs and sometimes even my healers gotta wait a while and im certain it is not due to lack of dps players....

That's... been the norm for longer than I've been playing.
Tanks having nonexistant quetimes looong predates the any of ShB's new players booms new and these questions are not indicative of the new players choices.

Thats the issue I mentioned before: People dont like playing as tank and healer, and making them more "accesible" doesnt seem to make them more popular. Still is worrying that on ShB with a new Tank job, has a similar ammount of tanks than Stormblood that only had dps as new jobs, and only in the very first 1-2 months of ShB were more tanks than usual, and they waned quite fast
There will always be less tanks than DPS so you'll get short queues. The true way to judge tank population are DPS queues, which are shorter now than ever.
Once upon a time, DPS queues were 30min+ because of the lack of tank.
