Stop the WoWificaton (ui mods)

I don't care if someone wants to make their UI look like WoW or if they are using a damage meter to try to improve their gameplay for higher-end content. Banning these players would be catastrophic for the game's image and perception over something like this. If you are playing your job correctly and not griefing other players by dragging out instances to well beyond their standard competition time, it is extremely unlikely you will encounter any kind of harassment over gameplay.

Yes, but Ui mods are mods. It's like saying 'we are talking letters here, not words'. Especially if you advertise UI mods and Undercuttings Addons in the same sentence or video. Also modified visual markers are part of the UI ( see Debuffs etc.). I wonder how many of the carry vendors, flippers and gold sellers use mods 'because they just want a different UI'.

Been away for a few days. A few takeaways after catching up in the thread. All mods are third party tools. All mods are external applications that edit the games code your RAM. All external applications that modify the games code have access to your information that is stored in the game. The popular launcher even requires you to put your login information in it. Those things aren't opinions, they are facts. Most of us seem to agree that what other people do that doesnt effect "me" is fine. ui mods are not such a big deal. Graphic mods are not such a big deal. Even though those two are external applications which modify the games code, and are a security risk and against TOS, period. Not an opinion. Many of these mods give literal in game advantages over players who choose not to use them because they don't want to break TOS and actually try to be a decent person. Examples of the advantages these software modifying applications give has been included in the thread. Sucks.

It's funny how the parser crowd that goes 'casuals waste my time' literally steals gil and RL time from non-undercutters, dunk on noobs in PvP etc. 'If I can't see my abuse, it doesn't happen'. Are y'all dogs or why is it it so hard to understand ?

I've known several people over the years who've botted/automated the game, and only one of them actually even raided. If anything, most of them were self-described casuals, some of whom had an active disdain for raiding / 'tryhards'.

the funny part is: players that are interested about hard content of game, with addons that make it easier to clear, so where the difficulty? 14 have all the things inside game that wow players used to have, researching addons in the web.

Old influencers didn't use mods in respect of SE policies
People used mods moderately in silence like Parsers, Undercutters, etc., the occasional grey zone abusers like Housing

New influencers (incidentally Hardcores that destroyed WoW) come and gain money by A) disrespecting SE B) disrespecting old content creators C) making 'innocent' mods more accessible
More people will share A) the influencer and B) the mods
More people use mods and get familiar with modding
More people now know how to use harmful mods ( Auto-silencer, Bots) and will use them,
actually those are even normalized already (s. Fashionista)
More players, especially PS4, will get excluded ( no-parsers etc)
The marketboard will turn into the same botf est as in WoW
YP will need to answer because he trusted people to be moral about it

Mod advertisers are literally hurting mod users too. And UI is a mod.

They're simply making excuses and attempting to conflate two very different things as thought they're the same. Just as you are now. Visual mods, be it texture upgrades or UI addons, aren't the same thing as automated undercutting bots. Both attempt to do completely different things and have an entirely different purpose. Conflating them is just being disingenuous.
