Everyone freaking out about two measly positionals, but ignoring the entirely new Blitz mechanic?
Is MNK a NIN now?

Highly doubt it. NIN became super good after its rework not just because the rework was good, but because it was more accessible. Monk will NEVER be that, with it's positionals. They probably should have gone full ham and just kept positionals on Bootshine and Dragon Kick, just to keep the flavour. Monk could easily be the most represented melee, because people LOVE the aesthetics of an actual fighter. Howeveronce you actually try it and comepare it to other melee, the aesthetics just don't make up for the all the work you have to put in to get numbers barely higher than dragoon. This is a fact.

By the looks of it, the Blitz mechanic is closer to Meikyo Shisui. You activate Perfect Balance> Execute Three Skills to collect sigils> perform a finisher, which unlocks a Light/Dark finisher chakra depending on which one you did. You have to execute two separate finishers to perform Starshower ala Shoha.
I'll say I'm cautiously optimistic. Monk is getting new attacks, we're getting a new mechanic to replace GL, and we're getting a combination En Evant/Aetherial Manipulation.
The only thing I'm not really pleased with is the loss Raptor Form positionals, but we've still got way more than the other melee.
