If SE wanted us to do that, there would be no purchase timer and they likely would have introduced a formal buy/sell system.

SE lowered the number of players required for workshop-related projects from 4 to 1.

I mean, Yoshi-P did say the following: https://youtu.be/BJwPCxau7CA?t=334

In terms of people who are reselling, like giving up their home and then trying to sell it off for an enormous amount of gil, that sort of reselling of housing is a no-go. We do not stand for that.

When you do see a player that is obviously utilizing their housing to sell it off for a really high amount, and you do see in party finder, please let us know. Report it to us and then GM's will go in and investigate. And if we do find evidence that it is true that a certain player is going out there selling off their land for an unusually large amount of money, we will try to go in there and make them refund that gil and return the land.

We may have mentioned it before, but we do not allow people to do something as malicious as selling some of these plots. Again, once we have it reported, we will investigate and find the evidence. And once we find sufficient evidence, we will try to address it and rectify the situation.
I would put more weight into the above clip as that's newer than what you have linked, especially since there are no English digests for that live letter, indicating that it was basically Beta information and not something released (and thus, the design changed).

Weird, I don't see where tradeable deeds have ever been added to the game. Seems like they changed their mind after whatever those images were captured from occurred, just as they changed their minds about several other housing related plans they had shared then didn't implement. Try sticking to what is part of the game, like the purchase timer which is there for no other reason than to interfere with the ability to buy and sell.

As for lowering the number needed to craft in a workshop, that had to do with complaints about trying to get the previously required 4 players present to complete fabrication projects for the FC. It doesn't mean that individual players are intended to be running multiple airship and submersible fleets for their personal profit like you do.

If they ever give me the ability to add a workshop to my personal house, then I'll agree they want us to have workshops to run for personal profit instead of to fund FC activity.

Do you recall what patch that was changed in?

    Edit:
Found it, that change happened in 5.2, on Feb 17, 2020 https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...9c08bed75d230d

For myself, I enjoy doing the subs and that is the only reason I keep this FC. I'd give it to my friend if I could run subs and have a workshop in my med house.

Sorry, it would appear this little exercise went over your head. You're the first person to blab about how they are working on X or doing Y based on information that has never been confirmed on the lodestone. But when that information doesn't suit you, look how dismissive you get. Really cute... Practice what you preach.

Also, your little take on why they brought down the requirement is nothing but a wild opinion. Pay attention to the words being used:

Stop trying to act like you're "owning" people when all you're doing is regurgitating other people's posts while ignoring counterpoints that blow apart any argument you make. I mean, that's how you ended up creating a thread that was a monumental insult to the Japanese after all....

We're also not using Beta information (that was discussed 9 months before a system went live) as "proof" that's how a system works, especially when there's something THREE YEARS LATER that contradicts it...

Ok I was made aware of this post as the “general” place to share housing suggestions & ideas.
So these are my suggestions (if they weren’t made already):

    Communal housing:
The same housing ward keeps being used but the sharing option on them would get “enhanced” like this:

=> Small house = Can be shared with 3 people if used privately or shared with 1 additional FC.
    - Add “lofts” which are bigger then apartments with higher ceilings & can be shared with 3 people or used by 1 FC.

=> Medium house = Can be shared with 6 people if used privately “or” shared with 2 additional FC’s.
    - Add “duplex” apartments which have 2 medium/large floors that can be shared with 6 people or used by 1 FC.

=> Large house = Can be shared with 9 people if used privately use “or” shared with 3 additional FC’s.
    - Add “triplex” apartments which have 3 medium-large floors that can be shared with 9 people or used by 1 FC.

=> Replace the FC rooms to loft sizes and allow members to move their lofts to the FC (in the event if they already had one in the apartment complex. If a member is kicked they would not lose their loft, it would just be moved back to the apartment complex by default without loss of layout settings (no need to redo interior).

=> the search function would get an additional option to search for FC’s if you don’t know where they are located since crystals only show who’s using one of the houses.

=> Make housing 30% more expensive compared to standalone housing of similar size.

=> When sharing a house with an FC, additional restriction options should be made available.

=> For every additional FC you share your house with, 1 additional Deluxe garden patch should be allowed.
(if one of those FC's stops sharing... that additional patch would be put in storage automatically with a delay to not lose your crops on it)

I believe these options may convince people to stop caring for standalone housing in the event that there is none available which is a win-win to people who want to grow and a lose situation for people that buy up housing to re-sell with profit (buying house under FC, recruiting the seller & promoting them to leader after the sale is done).
Since now, no one would have need for a house unless they aim to ally themselves with other FC’s or want a garden.

SE could ofcourse also rebuild the entire ward but I believe the above option is the easier one to implement.
This idea would make the exterior in the ward seem more active/populated as more people would start using the same ward instead of being spread out over so many different wards (so while this may put more stress on 1 ward, much less wards would be needed which in turn would come down to a similar type of server stress).

We might need personal rooms in shared houses (like in FC houses) and a few other things (personal gardens?) to ensure that everyone can use the house for whatever it is they wanted a house for.

I'm not so sure about the increase in price though...
How would the game know you bought a house for you vs bought a house to share?

I just mentioned the increase pricing to make sure only people get it that want it bad...
That way chances of FC's getting standalone housing would increase since FC's have many members often willing to cover the costs as a team.
But I suppose keeping the other options in mind this rise in price might not be required.

As for how the game would know you bought a house for yourself or to share.. the same can be said for a private house which is for you from the start, but can be shared at any given time.
When someone would buy a house for private use he would get the option to invite people (only a few more in my example). When someone buys a house for FC use however the sharing option would not be there.
But when you select an FC in game you would get an additional option.

Right now a member can use that FC info panel to send an application to join as a member.
I would add an option which relies on whether you own an FC dedicated house or not. If you have you could send someone an "offer estate sharing" button. If you did not have an FC house/plot that option would be "request estate sharing". If accepted that FC owner would get a similar function like someone sharing a private house where they can select what options to allow and which not. Each of those permissions should be adjustable for each FC you are sharing with "separately" in case you want to build trust first, and more options should be available with what you want to share such who can use the airship/subs and who can use the food inside the house (would be useful if you could assign a floor to an FC, but I doubt they can do that).

But once you start sharing your house/plot with another FC they could teleport to it just like any other member.

Same idea as a private house... if the main one becomes dead, other FC's can release themselves from the plot and find another active FC to work with.
And if no one enters that house in a while, the plot would get demolished.
