Is there any good reason why we can't have FFXI-style "free-form" armor glamour? I can't be the only one who wants to have more freedom to wear plate armor on a job that normally can't.

By all means, leave job-specific gear sets (like artifact armor) locked as they are now. And leave weapons locked. But for everything else, why can't we be free to glamour whatever armor we want?

Even if I had to level DRG to get access to Maiming gear appearances on a SAM, I would happily do it. I have this really cool-looking Striking glamour with these heavy plate gloves that have gold trim and segmented fingers with clawed tips, and leggings with an awesome cape on them. They look like Maiming/Fending gear, but you can't wear them on a Maiming/Fending job. There's a crafted Maiming chest and crafted Maiming boots from two different sets that would match perfectly, but of course I can't wear them on a Striking job and have to settle for the Replica Allagan Striking armor. Yet there is no logical argument against changing this. Jobs are identified by their weapon styles, stances, and ability animations, not their armor. Tanks can completely ditch their heavy armor in favor of swimsuits or mascot outfits, so why can't other jobs do the reverse and ditch their cloth and leather gear in favor of heavy armor?

I can't be the only one that wants this. Maybe if we make a concerted effort to bring this up with the developers, we can get it changed.
