I’m just not really worried about it. They have showed time and again that they care about player QoL, and have thus far upheld their respect towards the playerbase. They aren’t my friends, but they’re not my enemy either. I enjoy playing the game and I’m not bothered by shiny extras that I can take or leave. And the fervor will die down like it always does every time they add something new, because people will realize nothing bad happened.

The only paid service that has impacted my gameplay in the slightest is retainers. Two is doable but it’s a struggle and becomes more and more unpleasant every expansion. That’s pretty much the only cash shop service I’m pissy about. Okay that and Hrothgar fantasias should be free.

It'd be one thing if this hasn't been in a state of equilibrium for 7 years, but it has.

I don’t think it would be too late. This is a team that reshaped a dead on arrival flop into what it is today. When they misstep, every time, they answer to the playerbase. If nothing else, the team listens. Should they start to step out of line, truly step out of line and not just this overblown cosmetics panic, I can’t see them simply ignoring it. Especially if such a decision erased the trust they worked so hard to build to relaunch the game in the first place.

Being concerned is fine, I’m not going to stop you and healthy criticism is good. It has helped the game be better many times. But people coming out with the end is nigh signs every time something goes up in shop is tiresome and just a lot of fuss over business as usual.
