Why is the Cruise Chaser mount from the Mogstation?

The less content than the mogstation argument was exaggerated nonsense from the start.

This situation however has some frightening parallels to WoW.

Anyone remember Warlords of Draenor?

Patch 6.1 with it's laughable content update of the Selfie Camera and Twitter integration during a massive content drought, in an expansion that had the least amount of content up to that point? And a few days later they released a brand spanking new store mount for only 25$!

Now let's see. Massive content drought in an expansion that arguably had less content than previous expansions? Another lackluster seasonal event update with a recolor of a mount we already got back in 2017? A brand spanking new mount on the store for only 29.99$! And that is after they already capitalized on the influx of new players by putting boosts on sale.



But it sure is easier to stick your head in the sand.

Thank you! Exactly that's the problem.


The funny thing is, the first WoW shop mount came out in WotLK when WoW was on the top of their subscriber numbers. Then came Cataclysm. The game got worse and worse, lost more and more subscribers but they have put more and more payed "services" into the game.



This could happen to FF14 too. If such shop mounts are a huge success then they will become the top priority and SE will propably take away dev resources FROM the game and put them into the Mogrystation.
