I'm sorry... but... the players did nothing. You participated in a grind that was ultimately meaningless. The Ishgarde housing would be added either way. There is no end of PVE content to do, for example, the crafters in this expac built an ENTIRE CITY
We went in, saw the wreckage left by the War, by the time we were done Ishgard had not only been Restored, but a new player housing district had been created.
I have never ever had the chance to be part of something this epic and absolutely uplifting.. ( God alone knows we need a few things to make us smile and laugh at the moment...we will be locked down till October and each day is harder than the last....)
FF 14 isnt about raids and savages alone.
This is not a sandbox - you didn't build anything.
That's like saying those that didn't participate in Eden did nothing because the aether was going to be restored anyways.
Welcome to themeparks. You paid your fee, rode the rides, punched a few mascots, and went home. You were never anything but a guest, and nothing you saw was real.
Not to mention it's dead content now basically. A literal waste of developing time. A needlessly complicated parasitic system added to give something shortly meaningful for some.
Unless the Ishgardian Restoration would become a recurrent event, like, each few months The Firmament needed again many crafters to maintain it - Opening the ladderboards and rewards again for the next batch of crafters, but no.
Now is dead and worthless.
This kind of design needs to go.
"The will of my friends has etched into my heart, and now ill transform this infinite darkness into eternal light
Unmatched in heaven and earth, one body and one soul that challenge the gods!"
