Some people think their desire for you to NOT have something is equal to your right to have it.

You don't have a right to have it. You have a desire, same as the other person.

I'm fine with Male Viera, although I do hope they retcon the lore a tad to make them a better fit, but this is a pretty poor argument.

I don't get why it's so hard to realize that all the other players aren't canon to your experience.

Because they never really give that impression, the exact opposite really, with the early game explaining that other adventurers exist and are reasonably common, and that forming parties is an in-world thing that said adventurers do.
