... Like.. it's OK to be wary but this reaction to EVERY SINGLE POSITIVE EXPERIENCE is just tired and apparently for the majority of vocal people coming here UNTRUE. Let people find their own experience and say some nice things.

It's proof that there's gross humans out there who exist in absolutely every single community who are the reason we can't have nice things. Nobody is saying those people don't exist.

I've been around online communities quite long enough to see both ends of the scale, what I don't see is the point in bringing this up every time someone has something positive to say or details their positive new experience. There are always the same "wet blanket" posters in here who always react the same way, as if they NEED their crappy experiences validated by making sure others feel the same way about everyone else.

FFXIV really isn't anything special. It has the same amount of good and bad as any other MMO out there.

I don't think anyone is suggesting that it's the worst community ever. Just that it really isn't the perfect, flawless and wholly welcoming entity that it is all too often portrayed as being around these parts.
That was awesome and as someone who has played a lot of other MMO's I can tell you that FFXIV does have it's fair share of undesirables, trolls and jerks.. but we don't have to detail this like it's some sort of inevitability that people will constantly be running into them.

The claim that FFXIV is some wonderland utopia is next to completely non-existent, the constant response to positivity with "just you wait till THIS happens to you because I had a crappy experience and it's what this game is REALLY like" posts however are FAR more common.
