Okay let me rephrase "Feast rewards were available to everyone too, you just didn't play the PvP mode."

Similar to people who played 1.0 but didn't sub for more days and then didn't get the full legacy status. You actually have to participate to get stuff. And if you don't like something, and miss it then, why should you get it?

I'm not actually asking for feast rewards to be made available, I'm just saying the 2 are not the same.


There was no arbitrary number limit on how many legacy accounts could be granted.

You still haven't said if I can get the feast rewards without placing in the top 100 or not.

Well in my opinion, they are the same concept. I would have had to do something in the past to get the title/items, doesn't matter to me if its 10 or 10000 people who get it in the end. Why should I be entitled to get legacy or PvP ranked things now when it is all over. Ofc it is more difficult ranking in PvP than to sub 3 months in 1.0.

I think MMORPGs need items that are rare and stay rare.

And I am sure you know the answer to that when you have 5k forum posts, you are probably a long time player. Anyway, Feast has rewards outside of top100, participation rewards "wolf collars" and titles, they are not the top100 rewards obviously, they are not quite good if you compare it to what PvE gets (Deepshadow tomestone weapons are pretty much the same style and much easier to get), but it is something.

Yes the company wants to reward players who stuck with them. Why does this mean we should give those rewards to people who didn't?

Getting a back tattoo on that toon if carried over to ARR
and Getting a Sub Discount (costing instead 10$) is more then enough for a reward.

Beside a bunch of you seem to be forgetting one small detail here... they've already been selling legacy rewards for years now and the majorities take at the time it was revealed was generally "who cares" so really, what's the argument here again?



oh yeah, achievements from legacy. Well, I said this before and I'll say it again. I'm fine with legacy achievements being achievable again but only if the Legacy version of the product becomes a playable product again and they earn it through playing through it like it should be. The mounts earned and carried over... yea, I stopped caring about that years ago especially with everything else they added to the mogstation.

To the topic at hand, no. People that play the lottery get no place in making claims they didn't win due to not playing in the past. People that want to place and be a notable figure in the Olympics don't whine for not having been there due to their own choices. In short if you wanted it, you should have been there and put forth the time. "But I wasn't playing back then!" that's not an excuse or reason to implement this, be there or miss out. People missed out. Time to be adults, admit they missed out, and move on. (note, this is aimed more at the actual legacy rewards)

Lol, logic in the forums are interesting. These two examples you give are not relevant to legacy achievements. People that play the lottery still have a chance to win the lottery wither or not they claim or don't claim that they didn't win due to not playing in the past. You still have the ability to obtain it. People that want to be a notable figure in the olympics dont whine for not having been there due to their own choices, but if they make the choice to do it then they can be. Hence still obtainable. Ofc i am using the same blanket statement that you are. Assuming they actually could be a notable figure in the olympics because of their choices. Assuming they had the skills, strength, endurance, determination. IF you think people dont whine about not having these skills then you are dead wrong. The point is all these are obtainable if you have the requirements or get lucky enough to win the lotto. Also this is life, FFXIV is a game.

You have no chance to obtain the 1.0 achievements anymore. As someone that was around during 1.0 that bought the collectors edition. I don't give a rat's ass if everyone can get the tattoo, legacy mounts, the achievements. I played 1.0 because I loved final fantasy and didn't need any rewards to continue to do so. Was it in a terrible state, ofc, did it improve over time before 2.0 yes. Was there other games I could have played, sure. I wanted to play 1.0 and i dont deserve a trophy for that and i play it up till the end. The fact they give us a lower sub is more than they need to do. The title/the rewards are 10 years old. You really want to gate keep that. Its a game not real life. People are so for SE taking things out of the game.

What they need to do is stop taking things out of the game. Stop time gating stupid events like Ishgard restoration (i have the title btw) and pvp mounts lock behind seasons as a one time reward only for that season is so dumb especially for wanting new players to pick up their game. I get why they do it for pvp because they want to funnel people into it, but the fact is it is season 20 and pvp isn't that great. Then those that might want to do it just for the mount. Well if you missed a season x who cares anymore cause you can't get them all. So why not miss this season and the next and the next. Additionally the things SE decides to be time gated exclusivity are plagued with bots and win-traders lol. Why isn't ultimate locked out for time exclusivity. Why can people get the same title as they people that did it first. I am not for doing that I just think this inconsistent approach that SE is taking and this gate keeping is a joke.

I dont even really want to start on achievements/title. They are a mess and alot of them are just do this 1 thing x amount of times. Where x is a redicolous number like i think that just let a random number generator pick for them cause their is sure no logic in it. Where is the logic in 10,000 accursed hordes or a legacy achievement like Never Met a Corpse I Couldn't Rifle. Earn a cumulative total of 100,000,000 gil from defeating enemies. If the person want to put the time into it they should be able to get it. Assuming the have the time, dedication, and skill. In all honestly the achievement system needs to be reworked and they need to get back to putting digital content in game instead of taking it out of the game. These people, myself including, aren't asking to automatically be given shit. We asking to be able to earn things in the game like everyone else did without being punish for suporting them for 5 years then finally taking a break or just starting yesterday.
