    About PK and "Open World"... It's not as easy as to just "open a server". The game is not designed at all for that purpose. And among the player I know, none is starving for PVP (me neither, only RVR format from time to time, that's all).

    I don't believe in "Open World" for a simple reason : even the Abyss in Aion tended to be desert unless it be during Fortress conquest. People were coming for Dredgion and Fortress and were doing Orda-suicide when it is supposed to allow a PVP encounter 1v1.

    No thanks, never. Every single MMO with open world PvP I played is a pool of toxic behavior and people disturbing other players by jumping on them when they simply mind their own business. Literally nothing fun in that. I'm more than glad that FFXIV doesn't have this nuinsance here and wish it will never become a thing.

    Because it comes at the cost of its core aspect: complexity. Casual Players dont care about this stuff, all they want is to have a good time and with as little investment as possible. It is like changing Chess to the point where every figure is removed and all you have left is just the King, and a horde of Queens, because anything else is way too complex. Can this still be called Chess, after those kind of changes?

    If it's small, then all the more reason to use instanced zones rather than a whole server. With world visit and data center travel, people don't have to be spread on all servers.

    On the other hand, FFXIV implements server limitations, as shown on Asmongold's stream. So, instead of having to be secluded to specific servers, people could redistribute based on server congestion statuses.

    A Eureka/Bozja type of zone might also be an alternative, but then you'd have to create specific contents for that.

    The way how the gameplay works in that game.I think it has a similar feel to FFXIV, altrough it is only as similar as comparing a Orange to a Lemon.

    They're nothing alike. I've played Tera, tera is very reactive and actiony, with combos and furious button mashing. It's more like BDO than FF14. Tank class blocked by holding a button, main attack is also spamming buttons. FF14 is much more functionally close to WoW/EQ style MMOs than an action MMO like Tera.

    I tried Tera once but I couldn't really jive with it.

    I dunno, for me the core aspect of PVP is more about competitiveness, which doesn't necessarily come from complexity.
