MCH is a better pet job than DRK since you get more queen's than you get living shadows in a fight (even then DRK doesn't have more interplay with their living shadow than queen). Adding a limit to the mobility of the job while trying to maximize the amount of damage you do would be fun to some, you might not find it fun but someone else would (especially if you can turn on and off your cast times like before). Idk if you were referring to mch with the kit statement but mch has a fluid kit in shb and isn't a 2 button prompt and idk what you're comparing. I don't recall SAM and RDM having glowing reviews at its launch either. By giving MCH back its cast times (which was a 1.5 cast time) it would be a unique hinderance since it'd be the only range physical to have cast times. Unless you mean unique from all the jobs in the game then what would you add to it?
