WoW did win, at least as far as being the MMO king. You are absolutely correct. However, it is self destructing at the moment and has been for some time. FF XIV is poised to pass them by relatively soon, but I don't think it is there yet, though even then it would never reach WoW's numbers when it was in its prime. Still, as it is famously put in WoW..."No king rules forever, my son." The crown will pass to something else eventually, whether or not it's FF XIV. WoW might have broken records and made a big name for itself, but very little of that matters once it has lost its heart and soul and falls into disrepair, which it arguably started doing years ago. All the awards in the world can be tarnished with a bad reputation. I still remember the good times and I will always remember them fondly, but I will be forever salty about what happened to it. Plenty of others no doubt feel the same.
