This is why I just generally dont like threads like this (especially since it gives faulty sources) -- because it goes back to this whole thing that FF14 only matters because its ''''''''''''finally''''''''''''''' more popular and played than WoW. Its feels like people need to be continuously positively reinforced that they made the better choice of playing one game over the other.

See the reason why I have to post these threads is because this is major news. Just as a piece of information this Twitter post I think is up to 10k likes for this site. Normal post daily for them gets between 10 and maybe 40 likes.

This survey/poll/guess or whatever you want to call it went viral by any definition of the word you want to use the MMO sphere of forums. Asmongold spent over an hour on it, it went to WoW forums very quickly and through every reddit and Youtube area imaginable in under a day.

Obviously many people are repeating on those forums what you have seen here but it does not matter. The fact that the question is even being asked is important because people currently playing on dead servers in WoW waiting 8 MONTHS for new content will see this. That is Blizzards worst nightmare that there might be a viable alternative that people will see and be done putting up with their crap.

I have never seen an FF14 player describe the relationship between the community and them as adversarial. That is a very common term right now used over there which why you are seeing SOOOOO many of these threads pop up here. These threads might have been rare here even at the height of FF14 Shadowbringers story but I promise you they were all over WoW's forums during the Battle for Azeroth massive content drought while they waited for the new expansion.

Square Enix just happened to time a massively popular expansion and content in a way that lined up with massive droughts in WoW with one bad expansion and another in the works. It is no surprise you are seeing WoW players looking for a new experience.

Our job as FF14 players is too do what we always do. Act nice and help new people.
