It's not "racist" because it is not withholding something from you based on your real-world race. It is failing to deliver customisation choices for your virtual bunny girl, and equating that to racism does your argument (and the real issue) a disservice.

It's an accusation based on the continual exclusion of content to a specific race in the game from a corporation. A corporation is not an individual. A corporation is a collection of people purposed to make a buck. I believe from the amount of time that has transpired, that the only likely reason it has not been accomplished is connected to reasons of profit pursuit. If they did put the money and time into it, it could have been accomplished by now multiple times over.

Um, there is no stipulation that racism can only apply to real people. That, apparently, is your personal stipulation. This is literally a matter of race as that is what Viera are, a race. They are defined as such in the game. Is it as significant as racism towards actual real people? Of course not, no one argued or even suggested otherwise. But, it doesn't change that it is race based exclusion. More on topic though, it's a matter of excluding content repeatably since Shadowbringer's release almost 2 years ago for the Viera race, and by proxy, the players who play as them.

Making up your own rules and definitions for words for some unknown reason and then getting upset that I don't happen to adhere to those rules and personalized definitions is what's a disservice to the topic. It comes off as you trying to derail a serious ongoing matter. Seeing as how you are also trying to defend Square in general here, it seems logical that you are purposely trying to derail the thread to get it locked or something to shield Square. Please refrain from doing that.

If you seriously want to talk about if it's appropriate to call race specific exclusion for in-game races racist or not, make a separate thread for that, as that is not the purpose of this thread and you are thus off-topic here and derailing this thread which I do believe is actually against the forum rules. I'm just going to drop the nugget that TWO races won't be able to use the new hair, not just the VII.

Adding more genders of the two races is just going to make it worse.

I wouldn't call it selfishness and greed though.... simple math.

12 heads per race. 24 heads. Each would need the hair done from scratch.

Instead of the single head that all previous things fit onto.

Yes, actually. In-fact, it's beyond that; I expected this to not be an issues months ago. I'm not going to change my expectations just because Square continually drops the ball. That makes no sense. It's not even a matter of them continuing to make an unpleasant choice. But that it continually is worse with time. It's not the opposite; it's not getting better or more acceptable with time. It does bother me, but I'd rather play the race I want and complain regardless because it's a matter that I believe is worth complaining about. It is in the megathread already. A topic coming up in a megathread does not somehow mean it can't also have a dedicated thread made for that topic. There is no stipulation that demands otherwise either.

So... I'm not amongst the people who are suffering from the lack of hats/hairstyles, since I rarely ever wore hats before switching to Viera in the first place, and I tend to stick to 1, 2 hairstyles at most...

I'm aware and understand the reasons for why devs have limited the options for Vieras, and if they never get to wear hats or never get access to the new hairstyles, it won't make much of a difference to me. Regardless, I sympathise with everyone who is invested in this issue.

From the way I see it, the problem is more their lack of compensation for their initial decision. I'd expect the devs to produce more head pieces to compensate for the lack of wearable hats, more hairstyles to compensate for the lack of compatibility with the mogstation hairstyles, and seasonal / event rewards that are 'universal'. I may not be very emotionally invested in this discourse, but you can be sure i'll have no reason to do a seasonal event if the reward is a hat, and also less reasons to buy some set on the mogstation if the hairstyle doesn't apply.

They should make some kind of effort to compensate, is all I'm saying. I don't mind not wearing hats, but I do want more cool headpieces. I'm okay with having hairstyles unique to Vieras, but I'd appreciate a larger selection. Additionally, I wouldn't ask of them to adjust every single hat ever created in the game to fit Vieras, but I would expect them, from the moment Vieras/Hrothgars were added, to create an extra model for Vieras/Hrothgars.

That's not how it works at all. A hairstyle doesn't have a separate model per face type. It also does not need to be remade from scratch. It could merely be modified to fit the other head. Even in this thread you have examples of modders doing just that. There is so much benefit of the doubt so many of you just pour unto Square. A brief dip into the modding community shows that such presumptions are misplaced though. It's not nearly that extensive to do, especially for all the time they've had to potentially do it. This is hardly the only sin by the Square dev team though. Like, it's beyond me how anyone can tolerate the disgustingly lazy and pointlessly horrible base feet in the game for example, but I digress. It shouldn't have to be left to modders to fix these types of problems. There's nothing wrong with expecting and calling for more from a corporate product seller.
