I live in east coast US and got screwed.Of course you can. There is not an infinite number of FFXIV players nor do all of them want the Collector's Edition. Many other goods in this world are produced at much larger volumes. And as I pointed out as the collectables are not necessary to play they can be produced in batches. If there was truly an issue with being able to produce enough they would be better off with a lottery system for account holders to introduce at least a semblance of fairness. It is one thing to be disappointed but another to be actually angry. This was no way to do the release. I had been up since early morning for work (Eastern time zone). I kept checking the store (which was completely down; no items at all) right after the they showed the Collectors Edition. It did not appear they were releasing any time soon and eventually people need to sleep. They sent the email to me about the expansion at 12:50 AM right before they decided to go live at 1 AM EDT! Most of the East Coast is asleep and got completely screwed. I am sure these sets do not exist yet and need to be produced so they should just take the orders and work it out.

I was up and watching the stream and when it wasn't there by opening ceremony I figured it wasn't going to be up until the morning so I stopped checking. There was nothing on the site telling when they were going to make it available so there was no way to tell even if you were awake.
