Of course you can. There is not an infinite number of FFXIV players nor do all of them want the Collector's Edition. Many other goods in this world are produced at much larger volumes. And as I pointed out as the collectables are not necessary to play they can be produced in batches. If there was truly an issue with being able to produce enough they would be better off with a lottery system for account holders to introduce at least a semblance of fairness. It is one thing to be disappointed but another to be actually angry. This was no way to do the release. I had been up since early morning for work (Eastern time zone). I kept checking the store (which was completely down; no items at all) right after the they showed the Collectors Edition. It did not appear they were releasing any time soon and eventually people need to sleep. They sent the email to me about the expansion at 12:50 AM right before they decided to go live at 1 AM EDT! Most of the East Coast is asleep and got completely screwed. I am sure these sets do not exist yet and need to be produced so they should just take the orders and work it out.

This was exactly my situation. I work two jobs; the one I worked yesterday had me up at 5 AM EDT. I had my other job today at 9 AM with a 45 minute commute on a good day. I live in east coast US and got screwed.

I was up and watching the stream and when it wasn't there by opening ceremony I figured it wasn't going to be up until the morning so I stopped checking. There was nothing on the site telling when they were going to make it available so there was no way to tell even if you were awake.

I had been refreshing the store after Yoshida was talking about ordering it and I actually found out about the game preorder page from the Wario64 bot on twitter so I got lucky lol it was put up 30 minutes before they sent out the email about it so I got my order in at 12:12am eastern time. I sent the link to my friends because I didn't see it posted anywhere else.

Geez, I can still add it to cart on the Japanese store. How come these seems to be plenty available there?

I've been using Wario64 bot for PS5's and Xbox series X consoles or graphics cards lol

Good news everyone! An analysis of the components of the Collector's Edition indicates it mostly composed of paper/cardboard, plastic, cloth, and a small amount of metal for the pin! No Unobtainium was used in its manufacture!

This just reeks of incompetence. I see people saying they have had additional runs before of CEs. Buying a CE should not be some sort of Mad Max, Darwinian race of if you happen to be online at just the right time and/or not have the store crash before supply "runs out". You just do it as I outlined before. The concept is called "limited run" as you use the pre-order period to determine the number to produce. There is ZERO reason to do it otherwise other than to engender anger and discontent. I buy things from Japan all the time that are produced this way.

I tried checking the Squeenix store during fanfest, and then forgot about it and closed out of the window. I was sent an email to preorder it (the squeenix giant ad PREORDER NOW!) > clicked on the link at the time > and then placed it in my cart. Once my cart had the item, I was placed in a Que (much like duty finder) and had to wait to purchase it within that time period. Then proceeded to purchase it and confirmation email shortly after it was finished within 10min window that I had to do it. But I wouldn't worry too much about not having any more. As someone mentioned, they went a couple extra rounds for FFXIV on Sb and ShB for CE's. Just have to be aware. Check the page (refresh) constantly, watch social media, and keep tabs on your emails!

It seems rather hard to believe that SE won't restock on CEs again but they really need to comment on that, we need to hear from them about this issue and we can't have us all waiting and refreshing like madmen for the whole year. We all have jobs/studies/better stuff to do.

I can't believe i now have to battle, credit card in hand, for a CE as if i'm trying to get the latest graphics card from scalpers like 6 months ago. When i used to get CEs weeks after release without having the website crash on me.

Why aren't the collector editions reserved for those who have (or had at some point this year at least) an active ffxiv account?

Is it really too soon for square to talk about restocks when they already talked about CEs being out of stock?

Maybe they have a bigger stock for Japan in general. Or they don't want to ship as many Containers to their warehouses in America or the EU.
