It's not about what players want, but what the devs can give them - and in the matter of extra switches and settings for our characters, that so far has been nothing. (And to the direct detriment of Hrothgar designs in particular, or they might have been able to just add in an extra setting for hairstyle.)
Maybe they can't add anything without also rewriting every bit of the game code that needs to handle that data. Or maybe they could theoretically add one or two things but it comes at an exponential cost of how much additional data needs to be sent between players in a busy area.
If it is possible to add just one more thing, I feel like they would pick something that affects every race.

Yeah, probably, and considering how many races have tails I can understand why a tail switch would be considered. It's not about what players want, but what the devs can give them - and in the matter of extra switches and settings for our characters, that so far has been nothing. Either way, if they're unable to add any switches that's understandable.
If they start adding switches I imagine it would open the floodgates to people requesting many MANY switches because dang are there a lot of possibilities.
No switch will please everyone, but that's no reason to shoot down the idea (this last sentence is not directed at the person I'm quoting above, but is more in response to the person from last time. This convo is kind of hop scorching around).

Memory constraints and increased volume of data access and transfer are the two things Yoshi-P cites quite often as the reason we can't have nice things. The devs are very conservative with these two resources, far more so than western developers.
