I have better bets on sch being in a better place design wise then whm. Whm will probably be relatively the same and sch might have more dps buttons. Though I could be wrong and they could make all the healers snore fests which will be dumb.

I'm personally going to wait til fanfest at the earliest, and the job actions trailer at the latest, before I start crying doom and gloom. While we can assume all we like that it's going to be the worst case scenario. We don't have enough evidence and there's always that slimmest of slim chance that they've received our feedback over the past two years.
Should be worried for SCH. Because Scholar and Sage are gonna be fighting each other for a spot as shield healer.

I've already told everyone I know that unless the devs finally acknowledge that healers are meant to be fun and deserve good design, instead of the afterthought we have now, by 6.0 Sch will be a dead job since SGE will have not only the novelty but also very likely to have less gameplay problems and tbh I can see a lot more of people dropping the role if the worst happens and our problems go unheard for another 2 years.

Honestly we should be worried for SCH. If Sage is remotely well designed I forsee a LOT of SCH's saying F* it and rolling Sage. No clunky pet AI to deal with.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
Sage isn't going to have pets so it's probably going to be better out of the gate unless big changes come to SCH.
Dissipation is a huge step backward for SCH.
I think a whole lot of people will jump on Sage. At least for a month.

I wish I had something to give me hope. Whenever I see an interview or official discourse related to healers from post Stormblood and leading up to Endwalker, I feel like the developers are playing a different game. It seems like there is a massive disconnect in what`\\'s important, and too much stipulation on things fundamentally not as important.
For example, yeah, it matters if a healer has a lot of powerful shields VS one with more powerful HoTs, but what about... oh, I don`t know, play experience? Of course your healing methodology is part of your play experience, but it is just a part of a greater whole. What is the job fantasy, what is the pace, what makes it unique, what does it do when everyone is healed, how "greedy" is it, what distinct mechanics does it have... I hope they focus more on making healers fun.

Regardless I'll be moving to Sage. They already ripped AST away from me (it got better, but I hate the card system now and they're messing with AST yet again for 6.0). SCH, while functional, is a jumbled mess with regards to its pet and capstone abilities. I can't say I have much faith in SE to actually fix this in 6.0 but I'm open to surprises, I likely even encourage to be.

I agree but waiting is hard : (I'm personally going to wait til fanfest at the earliest, and the job actions trailer at the latest, before I start crying doom and gloom. The issue isn't just about waiting but also that by the time we actually see the previews of coming job changes with EW they will likely be set in stone already and they won't make significant changes anymore.
So basically by the time you'll know how badly they mangled a job it will be most likely too late and it won't change for the next 2 years...
