ive only came across one rpists on mysidia, it was about a year ago. We were doing leves and she kept referring to her self in the third person. it was really annoying and i still remember it o this day![]()
I think the people that speak in third-person will stand out more.
This may be why Gath's gil is worth more than mine... except I like gold pieces myself. Bring back the GP!
But that itself is not a just reason to label all Role Players. After all There are FAR more non rpers spamming emotes, shouts and random crap in high populated areas compared to the one or two Rpers who role Play near the Fronds and bother people. If this itself is a good enough reason to justify hating Role Players, why not just hate the whole MMO player base Demographic as a whole then?alot of them dont use any courtesy when doing it is one reason that comes to mind
standing in the most populated area in town so everyone can see them doing it even if it annoys the hell out of everyone seeing them talk and emote for pages on pages on pages
then you have idiots like Eliza Joran(if you remember it, you know exactly what im talking about) who would spam the hell out of shout nonstop roleplaying
I remember members of a End Game Link Shell running around Ul'dah in their Underwear spamming the /psych and /pose emotes non stop, gathering around people and spamming them to no end, then chasing the ones who were vocal about it all around the map.
Those wern't Role Players those were your average run of the mill MMO Dushe.
Because Role Players are not responsible for a third of the spam pollution on Besaid. Sorry to said. Rho is right, you can sit in Ul'dah for any length of time at peek hours and I can bet my last dollar that you will almost ALWAYS find /shout random crap trolol stuff. Rarly the fault of an 'rpist'

In that case, Eliza Joran was the only one I've ever come across doing that in a densely populated area. To be honest, even then I'd rather see some "bad" theatrics than see smut and potty humor in /shout in a densely populated area any day.

Inb4 lgbt and other minorities make requests for their own specific "designated" servers.
I do hope I'm not too late to be the first to make this ridiculous correlation.
Although its been said (several times?) before:
I do feel that even though a RP community should just stick together as a whole, this leaves little room for players who want to get in touch with their RP side a way to correctly congregate with others of their species. And on the other side of the spectrum, a way for people to be able to sleep easy knowing their server is RP-free, less we all end up sleeping with our garlic and holy crosses/stakes again. This is why some sort of response is needed by our lord and savior SE, praise Hojo.
Edit: I also have the idea of simply throwing all the minorities into one server, that would solve the need for specific designated servers with one server to house them, I would like to take this time to open the floor to suggestions on names for this server. Personally I would like a name with resemblence to the dutch oven.
Sincerely, somebody other than you.
That's actually not really a valid comparison, as the act of roleplaying requires other roleplayers. It is by its nature a communal activity, thus in order for there to be roleplay, roleplayers must be in the same spot in-game. It's not what we ARE, it's what we DO. And the nature of what we do requires us to do it with others who are doing the same thing.
"Isn't that like being lgbt/random other minority," you may ask. In the context of playing Final Fantasy XIV... No. Not at all. Not unless you're seeking a partner with whom to start a relationship, in which case why are you playing an MMO? This isn't about who we are, it's about how we choose to play the game... and grouping players by how they wish to play seems 100% legit to me.

That's strange, you have Foxbat there complaining about RPers using shouts when it is perfectly fine for non-RPers to use the same game feature. So what makes it different when RPers do it? Why should RPers consider /not/ using /say or /shout, or at least think twice about doing so, when a non-RPer never even /thinks/ of that as an issue when pertaining to himself or other players. We all pay a fee to play this game, the same price. If I am bugged by Out of Character shouts because it ruins MY immersion as an RPer and a FFXIV customer just like the rest of you, and I tolerate it without telling you to shut up, I believe it's only fair to have the same courtesy in return.

i was just pointing out things that annoy the hell out of non RPists to answer a question
i think you missed the entire point of what i was saying with my posts
also, i dont tell them to shut up or anything, i troll the hell out of them in game when they do it in public, i know how hard it is for RPists to ignore what people are saying and they just have to read it soitalklikethisandidoitinsuchawayastowhereiamactualytalkingtothemandgivethemaheadacheandmakethemmovesomewhereelse
im not against the RPing, i just get annoyed by it when they do it in the most public place possible and spam everyone with it, do it if you want, just dont do it in a way where EVERYONE has to watch you(such as at camps, dont do it on top of the damn crystal move off to the side a bit out of say range, its not that hard, used to have this issue all the time at broken water pre behest nerf)
