Hrothgar are among the least played race/gender combinations present in the game at the moment. I don't see that changing drastically anytime soon. Especially since many of those pushing for them to be added do so not because they want to play one themselves but because they've convinced themselves that it'd be 'interesting' to see them as a playable race. Even Yoshi-P is guilty of that. He really wanted to see a beast race made playable, yet he plays a female lalafell.

I'd sooner see enhanced character customisation for the playable races we have already, but if they do add another in the future...then hopefully it'll be something conventionally attractive as to be worth the extra work it'll take to make emotes, mounts and glamour fit.

When that “variety” comes at the cost of many other things, there’s a problem. It’s an especially bigger problem when that race is barely played. It’s not about whether you see them or not, there’s data to support the fact they’re the least played by far. You’re right in that we got variety. We got variety in half baked races that can’t even wear new headgear or use new hairstyles or have gotten the hairstyles they were oh so promised beforehand.

To actually put things in context here is the least to most popular race-gender combos of the bottom half of the race roster afaik.

Hrothgar are not super popular, but they are not nearly as rare as I see people like yourself make them out to be. I'd say they're "decently popular" for a furry, limited race that's as popular as the "rough/ not cute human" option. Nothing short of a success no matter how you look at it.

Yeah, I actually see Hrothgar around pretty regularly. They aren't quite as rare as some would think. If anything, they have actually gotten more popular over time. Personally, I may switch back to it for the last Bozja portion. I keep floating between Highlander male and Hrothgar. lol

Hrothgar being put into the game didnt cost it anything; in context to "Thanks to Hrothgar, we dont have this now"
Just because its the least played still doesn't mean it was a waste of time.
