Male Viera as a playable character! show your support

Gave the preliminary poke around character creation to make a male Viera version of my character.

Their height isn't surprising (5-6cm shorter on both ends is barely noticeable in game), and is about what I expected it to be. Some of the options are neat, the hair they have is very nice and I'm envious of all of the wavy styles. I don't know how I feel about their facial hair (it's nice, but suffers from the same problems as the ones on other races). I know there's been some talk about their posture, but having been a male Miqo'te (who also have a strange default posture) in ARR I didn't think anything of it. The best thing I love about them is their starting gear, probably my favourite out of all races currently.

I don't think I will make the switch as I love male Au Ra and I don't want to fall into the Fantasia money-sink (though I am hesitant on wholly ruling it out), but an alt buck is very likely. Sorry male Miqo'te, I have to move you down the list for male Viera as my second favourite race/gender combo.

I can understand that they're going to hit the spot for some and not for others. I would have preferred something more feral-looking, but I'm quite liking them and having fun in the Benchmark character creation. Congrats to those that are loving them!

I don't think the posture when naked is that much of an issue visually (more so health wise ), but it literally breaks gear as it is right now.
Anything that's placed on the waist is floating, and skirts/hanging coat are also very unnatural, there's also a lot of stretching that's visible on some of the PLD armors.

Report it on the Bug Reports forum and maybe they can get it ironed out a bit before release.

This. Doesn't seem like it was intented this way, because even from the armor list that is available in benchmark, most of them look okay in stomach area, with some being weird (like Noctis attire).

Well, adored them and made my terrible trio. Was expecting them a bit more rugged, but very surprised and glad for how they turned out. Thanks SE! <3

I'd check if it's broken in the same way on Miqo'te as well, but I don't have the Noctis gear for my character yet. Eagerly awaiting the return of the FFXV event for it.

(Everyone else goes on about the car but I just want the glamour.)

i don't think it's something they will fix just how gear works on them.
like unless you are a Hyur you will have some design issues with armor and im not talking about Horns sticking out of helms or Armored ear pockets for miqote and elezen
Hroth,lala and Roes have to deal with stretched out textures ,some gear doesn't fit male Au ra right.

I'm a little late to the party, but I'm adding my two cents on the posture situation going on with the Male Viera. I want so much to like them, but the poor posture very much ruins things for me personally. It makes the armor fit awkwardly and forces them to look down like Miqo'te males. Just straightening the posture (unrounding the shoulders and putting the hips more squarely inline with the rest of the body) would go a long way to helping the situation. Personally, I wouldn't change anything else.

But please, please fix the posture so the gear doesn't look silly and they aren't looking down like male miqo'tes. As it is they look kinda silly and broken (hunched shoulders and jutting hips) next to their female counterparts, which is a little disappointing.

Um, can't you change your character's idle posture with the /changepose emote?

You can, but that adjustment only happens after some time, and doesn't work in cutscenes.
