Oh I know my guess would be if they were going to do so it would be 7.0 or even 8.0
7.0 probably makes the most logical sense since I do not see a large revamp and added genders and character features until then. Also with the the main story elements coming to a reported end next expansion they could breath some new life into the game to compete with other future MMO's coming out.
This dated engine is reaching a point where they have a choice to make either support the game or go into maintenance mode. FFXIV still has room to grow would be ashame to put it into maintenance mode.

As long as they have a fun game to play, I think FFXIV will be fine and thrive. I doubt it will go into Maintenance mode unless they stop making fun content, that and when the Story reaches its final conclusion. FFXIV doesnt strike me as a game that will just BS its way to keep a narrative, I think this game should have a conclusionOh I know my guess would be if they were going to do so it would be 7.0 or even 8.0

Well no, not really, a small community isn't necessarily one worth catering to, or one where doing so will necessarily yield more money, and we don't even really know if Hrothgar were considered worth the expense and hassle it's cost them. Absent an engine upgrade, anyway, the cost is fairly considerable. Their figures are below those of Elezen and just about above Roegadyn.Just because they aren't super popular and bloody everywhere doesn't mean that people dont want them or like them. YoshiP not suddenly switching his Main to a Hrothgar does not reflect anything about his stance on Hrothgar. We needed something like the Hrothgar for Variety, we got them for Variety. If you haven't noticed, every option till now has been...basically a Human. We got Traditional Elves, then Some humans with Cat ears and tails, some with Horns and Scales, and then the Viera; just Humans with weird feet (If you keep the racial Gear) and Bunny Ears. Not a whole lot of Variety.
Even Guild Wars had something like the Asura, a Non-human Option, and then the Sylvari, who look like humans, but are Tree People with Customization option to reflect it such as Leaves for Hair.
I dont know how it is over there on Cerberus, but over here on Adamantoise we have quite alot of Hrothgar players, and I see quite alot of them in Dungeons and Trials when I play the game.
If we do get more races, I hope they push for bringing in other popular races, I hope to See the Bangaa. Another Short option like the Ivalician Moogles. Update and give us the Lupin, just to name a few.
We dont need another conventionally attractive race. Literally, just if they can, they should just make more customization options for the Previous Humanoid Races.
As long as there is a fanbase for it, its not a waste of time. A small Community, is still a community worth catering to. And that community is still more money.
I don't consider "variety" alone a particularly strong reason to add anything, and they sort of mucked it up by modelling them after one of the least played male options, rather than sticking to the original Ronso design.

When that “variety” comes at the cost of many other things, there’s a problem. It’s an especially bigger problem when that race is barely played. It’s not about whether you see them or not, there’s data to support the fact they’re the least played by far. You’re right in that we got variety. We got variety in half baked races that can’t even wear new headgear or use new hairstyles or have gotten the hairstyles they were oh so promised beforehand.Just because they aren't super popular and bloody everywhere doesn't mean that people dont want them or like them. To be fair, they [unintentionally?] set up Hrothgars to fail. As much as I love them and main one, they were added as a token race, were rushed, gender locked, have by far the least customization options, which btw you have to pay real money to change, and can't even wear most head gear. And don't get me started on the whole "they took mViera's place" and "Vieras are held back because of Hrothgar limitations" debacles.
I'm not going to pretend they would've been the 3rd most played race if they were properly made, but they would surely be much more popular if at least the hat restriction was gone. Alas, unlike their competitor mmos, XIV simply isn't build to sustain races that aren't 90% human.
If/when fHroth is revealed, I wouldn't be surprised if it's a highlander in a catwoman outfit
Hrothgar are among the least played race/gender combinations present in the game at the moment. I don't see that changing drastically anytime soon. Especially since many of those pushing for them to be added do so not because they want to play one themselves but because they've convinced themselves that it'd be 'interesting' to see them as a playable race. Even Yoshi-P is guilty of that. He really wanted to see a beast race made playable, yet he plays a female lalafell.
I'd sooner see enhanced character customisation for the playable races we have already, but if they do add another in the future...then hopefully it'll be something conventionally attractive as to be worth the extra work it'll take to make emotes, mounts and glamour fit.To actually put things in context here is the least to most popular race-gender combos of the bottom half of the race roster afaik. When that “variety” comes at the cost of many other things, there’s a problem. Hrothgar are not super popular, but they are not nearly as rare as I see people like yourself make them out to be. I'd say they're "decently popular" for a furry, limited race that's as popular as the "rough/ not cute human" option. Nothing short of a success no matter how you look at it.

Yeah, I actually see Hrothgar around pretty regularly. They aren't quite as rare as some would think. If anything, they have actually gotten more popular over time. Personally, I may switch back to it for the last Bozja portion. I keep floating between Highlander male and Hrothgar. lolTo actually put things in context here is the least to most popular race-gender combos of the bottom half of the race roster afaik.

Those are very specific templates though lol. In actuality it’s the second least played race next to roes by a large margin. To actually put things in context here is the least to most popular race-gender combos of the bottom half of the race roster afaik.

Wut? This is looking at race-gender combos, Hrothgar are NOT a "full race" seeing as they are only male. It would be stupid to compare them to full races when there is no female option.
