The problem you are posing is player-made.Did you not read my post above? Or are you joking?
With your limitation in place, FCs will occasionally, perhaps often - kick out all their offline members, demolish their house, relinquish their house, repurchase a new house, reinvite their members, rebuild every single FC private chamber, decorate every single private chamber, lose all workshop progress to bypass the relocation limiter.
So your idea is hurtful to FCs, and it's a bad idea.
If it was limited to only individual players and not FCs, it would be a less bad idea.
If they can't be patient and play in the confines of the game, this is the price they'll have to play. :B

Unreasonable for who? Impatient people? People/FCs who already own a house? People who relocated on a whim regularly? People who use alt-characters/accounts and bots to buy up plots?
If you want to make housing exclusive, that is your prerogative. I would rather have it a bit more inclusive and fair. :B

i believe theyre saying it's unreasonable because there are MANY reasons someone would want to move their FC house immediately after purchasing, or within a few days.Unreasonable for who? perhaps they purchased a plot because it was the only one readily available, yet there is a new plot available a day or so later that better suits their needs. they only fit the first part of your statement - FCs who already own a house. this plot may be gone within a few hours, and a plot with their needs might never become available again, or it might take upwards of a year for it to BE available again. with your suggestion, this actually makes housing a lot more exclusive, and HARD on players.

And it could take that long for a player without a house to get one with people relocating to plots as soon as they open, especially with how buying timers currently are.i believe theyre saying it's unreasonable because there are MANY reasons someone would want to move their FC house immediately after purchasing, or within a few days.

I don't see how my suggestion makes it more exclusive seeing as it only hinders those with houses from taking up open plots and leaving plots with reset buying timers versus the current system that favors owning a house prior and screws over those who don't own one. :B

Current: FCs can relocate without losing members, FC private chambers, or workshop progress. FCs will relocate if they find an open Mist 35 mansion, for instance.
Your suggestion: FCs will still relocate if they find a Mist 35. If they are within the 30-day cooldown these FCs will lose their workshop progress and kick any members that are offline, in duty, in cutscene, afk, or busy. These members will lose gil and in some cases mog station or event items, some of these members will not come back.
Again, relocation was a step forward for FCs. Limiting it in a way that would force people to use the old system is objectively a bad idea, for the reasons given here. You want people to "pay the price" if they happen to find a rare or desired open plot. I think that inflicting these losses on social FCs is unreasonable. I think undoing Square Enix's work building the relocation system to do so is out of the question.
edit: forgot that FC members that are in duty, in cutscene, afk, or busy would need to be kicked as well. added

I would hope a social FC would value their members and the hard work they put in over a digital dollhouse because that's pretty much what the scenario you keep bringing up is showing, that that FC values the house over its members.
Why should characters or FCs that already own a house get preferential treatment over characters or FCs that are still trying to get a house?
People keep telling those still trying to get houses to just be patient and persistent, maybe one day you'll get lucky and someone won't casually stroll by and relocate to the plot you've been standing hours at, so I don't see why it's an issue to tell those with houses to be a little patient and to give others a chance to get a house (and maybe even put some thought into where you buy your house, give it some weight).
