It seems to me that those who are complaining about the ammo are the ones who just need to take time and go farm something and make gil. On the other end this is a ranged weapon, why should you have unlimited ammo. Damn I wish the military on there ranged weapons had something that was unlimited but they dont. You need to just get off your ass and farm or craft, It is not hard to make gil, you just want to fight and not put any work into it. Now this is a game thats a given but even in real life you have to WORK for what you want or need. So why should this be any different, are you telling players that you want things handed to you cause thats what it sounds like to me.

Ok, let me explain how a bow and arrow works.

In order to hit your target, you need an arrow.

    That's why.

There are other ways to incorporate the RP feel of having higher lvl arrows at your disposal that some players seem to desperately need, perhaps adding in different equipable and upgradable quivers, to the same dice as casters and gladiators being able to equip a shield. Otherwise, I've never agreed with the way SE has set up their jobs, especially in FFXI, and the trend seems to be following through for XIV. It makes the game hostile to new players. (Hi2u Utsusemi: Ni scroll. They're going for 1.2mil currently.)

There is currently little reason to level anything but an Archer or Thaumaturge in the current state of this game. Which in my honest opinion is extremely disheartening.

I highly doubt Archer's DPS will reign supreme once 1.21 hits, with Archer becoming a support class. And where then is your argument that we should be forced to pay for arrows (which carpenters are taking a hit to craft on most servers) because our dps is so high?
Agree, but like others have said It might not change.

Even if BRD only does decent DPS... that's still a great support class giving decent DPS. Which should require some upkeep. Why does everyone just want easymode everything?

new player or old. When you're out or low on gil, and cant buy ammo, you cant play the class you want.

I never personally seen an Archer shoot blanks before, but I have seen them shoot lightning bolts, and magical arrows in other mmo games that consumes mp.

Whether or not you believe they are inflated is not particularly relevant. Could the prices be lower? Sure, but then you'd have less players who felt it was worth their time to go gather those mats and sell them, so the remaining sellers would be frequently sold out... at which point prices would go back up, etc.

Now, you might mean that you could go out and gather these mats yourself for synthing. I hope that's not what you mean, because (in the most basic sense of economics) it doesn't matter whether you gather them yourself, or you buy them in the wards, or a friend gives them to you... at the end of the day, if you craft 99 arrow synths, you are using items that you could have sold on the AH for ~1.4m. Opportunity cost exists.

That's right, you can farm anything you'd like for the same amount to buy those arrows that's how a market works! Congratulations!
