So, I should dictate my entire playstyle around the potential misuse of Rescue? Trolling is only part of the problem, plenty of well intended Healers will yank you around when they shouldn't simply because they don't know better.
I'm not sure how you read what I said that way, but you seem determined to keep fighting, so I can only assume that's why.
No, I'm saying don't stand in AoEs or wherever you might take damage, and then healers won't think to Rescue you. I'll phrase it differently yet again to make sure you get it this time: A healer will usually only use Rescue on someone if they believe that person to be in immediate danger. To significantly reduce the odds of someone using Rescue on you, stay out of danger.
Then teach them. Leaving people ignorant, knowing they're ignorant, means you're part of the problem. Perhaps explain at the beginning of the fight that you know what you're doing (assuming that's true, anyway) and that there's no need to Rescue you. If they do anyway, remind them of what you said. If they do it again, report them for harassing you. tl;dr, Grow up instead of insisting a mechanic of the game be changed because you get upset that something may happen to you and inconvenience you for 3 seconds.
Yea, sorry, but I'd rather not potentially get into a fight with the Healer over Rescue in every single roulette I run. In case you haven't noticed, many people in this community don't respond well to advice or requests. I don't have a mentor crown and have no interest in being a teacher. My vote is for a toggle. Then teach them. Leaving people ignorant, knowing they're ignorant, means you're part of the problem. I'm not the only one who dislikes that annoying ability, and this wouldn't be the first MMO to realize that ability is a problem and do something about it. It's a perfectly reasonable request.

I never said they did. People are suggesting I instruct the Healer on what situations he should/shouldn't use Rescue beforehand, which is something I'd have to do every roulette and something that could easily start a fight.

I have tanked (and floortanked) thousands of duties and I can count on one hand the number of times a healer has done a Rescue on me. It almost never happens.
I'm not even saying it happens all the time. I'm also not saying the ability should be removed and the person who designed it should be beaten.
A toggle is a very simple request, with virtually no downside, that solves a rare but still annoying quality of life issue for players.
Virtually no downside? You want a button that turns off another player's ability that they earned, making it so that it does nothing.I'm not even saying it happens all the time. I'm also not saying the ability should be removed and the person who designed it should be beaten.

Why should anyone consider your request as anything more than comedy? It makes people wonder what horrifying Rescue-based tragedy befell you that made you into a supervillain.
