The Fae are a non-playable race consisting of the spirits of deceased children. Probably not the best thing for players to associate their character with.

I wouldn't consider it pandering but I do think it would be a *lot* of work for them to implement and that they are unlikely to do so.
As I said earlier, it's not just a matter of inserting an extra pronoun option where it currently inserts "he" or "she". Those are determined based on the character model, not an independent field, and the script has lots of different ways it might vary according to your character's gender and how people will speak to them because of this. Each one of those scripts will have an individual instruction to insert one lot of text if the character is male, different text if the character is female.
To change this you would need to introduce a new piece of character information, independent of the gender selected for the character model, and then alter every piece of dialogue in the game that ever uses pronouns. Possibly rewrite some parts of some scenes. And then, the biggest barrier of all, the fact that there is recorded dialogue using "he" or "she" that can't simply be updated.
Also, given the lack of updates - ever - to character creation, it seems that introducing new pieces of character information is not a straightforward business in the first place. It's why we have things like Hrothgar's odd design choices as they wrangle their unique features into the existing character data categories.

This is not minor. This would require thousands of changes to dialogue and localizing over many languages that have actual gendered language. ... Which is why it likely won't be seen.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Exactly because it is a videogame based on a Fantasy World that it has no relation to any imaginary or made-up terms from real life. We're playing a fantasy videogame. A fantasy videogame where the gender you play does not need to match the gender you are in real life. I would argue that most people have at least one character that doesn't match the gender they identify as in real life. Talking about having an option to note your gender IRL shouldn't get transphobic comments.
To answer your actual question, no. The game is strictly built that your character's male/female choice is what dictates the pronouns the game uses, and due to the extensive work it'd take to make it work in this game (reprogramming the way the game handles the pronoun selection, changing how the script functions in languages that have gendered languages like French, etc), along with the fact Japan isn't exactly the zenith of these sorts of issues, it's likely impossible it'll ever be added in. The best you can do is add your pronouns of choice to your search info for other player interactions and just deal with the story using ones you don't prefer.Cool story.
I was asking if it was a thing, or if other people wanted to see something minor like that. I wasn't demanding it be in game. I wasn't suggesting that such a feature should take priority over other content. I also don't think talking about things we think would be cool is an odd thing, given how many resources the developers put into things like making sure hats work for Viera... or adding Mahjong to the game. There are plenty of things devs could put more or less time into, and I'm not demanding anything. I'm literally only saying I think it would be cool.
That being said, while I do agree his comment wasn't all the necessary since you weren't asking for it to be added to the game, only asking if it was possible currently; this is a public forum, and when people bring up things that are huge controversial discussions in the real world into their fantasy game, you should expect some pushback and opinions popping up regardless. It's the simple nature of the internet.
I'm not at all agreeing with the sentiment of the person you were replying to, but bits of your reply seem at odds with the rest of what you're asking for, unless what you're actually asking for is just to change the text on things like "X casts his/her lot for the [item]" because there's very little scope to make use of your own gender noted separately to your character's. The two things are not treated separately, even in practical gameplay functions like that, because it's still approached that you-the-player simply input the command for your character (who may not share your gender) to roll for loot, rather than you personally. We're playing a fantasy videogame. I know it's a personal preference how you think it should work, but I do play characters of both genders and I don't see any disconnect or issue with seeing male pronouns used in conjunction with my male characters. It's them doing the action, not me, and I think it would be more jarring for them to be mismatched.

You can create a search note to point out your pronouns (and anything else you want to add).
Open "Party Members" menu, right-click your character name, select "Edit Search Info".
Some real open-minded folks in this thread (and others touching on LGBT topics).......
That aside I'm pretty confident it wouldn't take much work to separate pronouns from your character's model, the game already has 2 scripts for Male and Female characters. It's probably just a binary toggle, which they could just open up to players' choice during character creation
Voice acting in this game is a thing, the more options to cover more expensive it gets. And since new pronouns are constantly being added/created the only real option here would let the player type whatever and then not use said pronoun in-game by always referring to our character by a title or class. And if you do this, why even bother giving the choice? Some real open-minded folks in this thread (and others touching on LGBT topics).......

Another option will be to get a universal neutral pronoun and stick to three options in total, yet, I'm totally sure someone will complain about this and claim to feel left out.
In any case, revisited the whole game to accommodate this is not an easy task.
