I couldn't agree more. I'm pretty tolerant too. I say let Chelsea Manning and Elliot Page be who they want. What does it matter to me? But the moment I voice an opinion about there being much more important things that should be focused on than being more woke, I get cancelled by some SJW... and if you don't think that person is a SJW check their signature. It's clear they have an agenda.

This whole thread is silly. In real life you can't choose what gender you are before you are born. In a video game, you can. There is literally no point in reworking the game at no small expense to cater to people who want to be called the opposite gender of what they chose!! Especially when there are bots destroying the market, and don't even get me started on housing... but in spite of all that could be worked on to improve or fix the game, if Square Enix decided that the best use of our sub fees is to cater to a woke mob, then I'm sorry but it will be time for me to move on.. and I say that as a legacy player who has several thousand days subscribed.

No. If someone doesn't conform to current doctrine the Twitter mob is going to cancel said person and ensure their life is ruined. Someone in this post mentioned the world coming around but that's not what's happening, people are just being terrorized by this new "inquisition".

This is one of those simple requests that would require a mountain of work. Has the team would have to go back and make sure the correct pronoun is being used in each and every pice of dialogue. Think about how much Dialogue is in this game it would be very daunting to go back and do such a thing.

My issue with this is that you will have to modify thousands and thousands of lines of code, store an initialization and force instate it into every thousands and thousands of statements and only make it for your character, it would take hundreds of hours to work that out because there is plenty of scenes in the game that uses pronouns for characters outside of the main character and each line of code will have to be proof read and validated to make sure that is, and that's not apparent without play testing, if the chat boxes were directly attached to the player character i imagine that'd be easier but these are floating text boxes in a lot of instances so its not different then a printed log.
I think this game is far to long in development to do something like that.

True haha! But back to what OP said “it’s a fantasy game” well this is true but it’s a fantasy game with very clear distinctions between sexes. You’re obligated to play within these boundaries in cutscenes but outside it’s your world. Modify a bunch of code for this would be wasted resources for very little actual gain or QoL
