I'm not embarrassed in the least except for you and the silly responses you're making about clearing BA without discord and I don't need the Castrum discord to clear the content tyvm. I have confidence another hotfix is coming soon to fix the reward structure.

It's true though. JP has had success in clearing BA without using Discord. Also, he's not making silly responses on this topic aside from you wanting evidence that's over in JP(go and ask a friend to translate for you so you can make a response - you might just get something). He stated it already anyway.

JP's game culture is radically different than NA and EU's - mostly in the fact that cooperation seems to be lacking in the latter two. If anything, Discord provides a medium for people to find groups easier and not be as anxious about getting their first clear. It helps them get used to it and normalize that feeling. Castrum is technically the same level as an Alliance Raid in this regard in terms of difficulty, and I agree the reward structure needs fixing - but that probably isn't coming until 5.4 given how close we are to the next major patch.

It is my understanding they don't use discord for BA but I can't speak to that as being a fact as I don't speak Japanese or spend time in their forums. And yes their game culture is different. I have an endgame character on Chocobo on Mana DC and it's always fun to see how they approach content.

I think people can judge for themselves about the responses he and I have made relative to BA. We weren't talking about Japan we were talking about NA and Eu. The fact of the matter is BA was not being cleared here without discord. Castrum was fine before the hotfix and will be fine when it's patched again. You may be right about having to wait for 5.4 but I hope not. It's major problem at the moment given not enough people are queuing because they don't feel it's worth their time. Can Discord be a temp solution for some until then perhaps but it's not needed to clear that content normally.

And I might add a group just cleared Castrum in an instance where I'm cluster farming at the moment with 28 people.

How do you think Rival Wings still keeps going? Discord Communities. They literally are driving that content. Otherwise, SE would see that entire piece of content become flat dead and nobody would ever do it again. The fact they're trying to distance Discord Communities away from the game and label it as a 3rd Party is concerning. If anything, XIV should see to work with the Discord Community since Discord's practically the best currently when it comes to communication software built for gaming.

There is nothing wrong with Discord but this content was designed to try and provide a meta where that wasn't necessary. It was working just fine before the hotfix and I suspect it will be working just fine after they hotfix it again. Seems to me you and he are here to push your discord community and that's fine nothing wrong with that but to try and infer that this is somehow required in order to complete this content is extremely misleading.

The game shouldn't have to rely on a 3rd party site in order for people to clear the content and I find there is nothing wrong with SE trying to provide that as part of their design philosophy. One of the things Eureka BA was criticized the most for was the inability for people to actually clear the content in zone without having to resort to a 3rd party site. One only has to think back to the shout chat in zone about don't touch my portals or those who would say Discord doesn't own those portals and so on. Got to the point were leads would tell their members to not respond to any shout chat or even let people know discord was in zone. Heaven forbid we have to deal with snipers who entered that content without discord. The memories are memorable for me to say the least.

I use discord for lots of things and used it extensively for my BA clears and I found it to be a very rewarding experience. I certainly don't feel it's necessary here in this context.
