If I have to make new friendships, and have a new experience, I'll just go play tera or another new mmo. Loosing all my friends removes the point of this game. Until 2.0, I don't see a point in playing anymore.Try and think of it as moving away to a different town/state/Provence whatever. You build up those friendships but that goes away when you move most of the time. I feel everyone on this, I've had to move many times as a kid, but each time I met new people, experienced new things, learned new things as well. Take it as is, everyone is on the same sinking ship, just some are going to be on different life boats, in the end you will probably meet up soon enough.
Are you calling my friends clones? I don't get what your saying here. I intend on wiping my char (but staying with my friends) when 2.0 hits, if you mean this game and 2.0 are clones? well, they aren't and will be near totally different games.
I agree SE should have done it as 1 server to another as a forced merger. At the current time players should not have the option to choose what server they want to go to. If a forced merger was the only option yes we would lose the linkshell group that players are in, but we would all be on the same world after a forced merger, and could in fact find the players we normally play with or what not. As SE has given players the choice of servers we already know some will go to the same server others will not for whatever reason. Now that being said and players can choose what server, it seems very likely that some servers will in fact have more players than others. It would also seem that this will also create the same issue we have now to a certain degree, unless SE has something else in mind when completeing the mergers, and or a way to counter this effect so that all servers are as equal in population as possible. We could be trying to solve 1 issue but in fact SE could be making the same issue over again by giveing the players a choice of servers.
