Not all world communities are made equal, and there are some I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Like Besaid (no personal offense, Besaid-ers). If they decided to merge Saronia with Besaid, I'd be SOL. That would suck. Blanket merges sucked in FFXI, they'd suck in FFXIV.
And I read what you said and responded to the only thing that had relevance.
They're not being used as filler. SE probably doesn't want to waste a bunch of resources getting the logistics figured out for the method you suggest. Rightfully so.But this isn't a true "choice" merge. They're giving us the choice, which they could easily give to the non-subs. But instead, the non-subs are going to be used as fillers for the lesser worlds and never offered a choice.
Read what you just wrote. Do you really need me to elaborate? So for the non-subscribers, you support blanket merges, but for the paying accounts, you support choice. Care to explain?

Have you ever rolled a character on Besaid? I doubt it. You're too afraid of whatever to even realize that there are probably a bunch of characters like you on it.Not all world communities are made equal, and there are some I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Not even gonna' bother.
No, I want you to explain. You've got a lot of "it should happen this way or that way" going, but never bother telling us why. Because you don't want SE devoting resources to expanding slightly on a system they've already had to develop? So we have a system that will transfer every active character to a server on a said day. Will it really be that much of a big deal to modify it so that, later, it will work for one character at a time? And even if they did, then wouldn't they have just created what they could also use to handle paid server transfers? Then, if the Besaid community happens to pick the same random server you do, you could move away.
Such naivety. Feel free to keep telling me what I've done and what I may or may not feel, though.
You wanted me to explain why paying subscribers should take precedence over people who may or may not even log in again. Paying sub > nonsub. That you're asking me to elaborate further is reason enough that I shouldn't waste the time. No, I want you to explain. The fact is there are a lot of current subs dealing with miserably small communities who need the server changes/merges sooner rather than later. You're asking for something that is ultimately pointless. If these inactive people come back for 2.0, they can pay to transfer worlds to wherever they want. Call it a "you weren't subbed so you didn't get to choose" tax.
Yeah those people can just use an option that doesn't exist!Such naivety. Feel free to keep telling me what I've done and what I may or may not feel, though.

Transfers are one time, and you get two chances anyway. Why are you against server merges if you have the option to transfer off of the server you get moved to anyways (absolutely free)?
Just to stick it to people who want to stay with their community, or come back to the game later and still play with friends?

FFS.
The current paying community outweighs the current nonpaying(possibly 2.0 returning) community.
People who are paying shouldnt have to deal with low population servers.
People who are not paying don't currently matter because they are not logged in or paying.
The fact that people think that server merge options wont be offered at a later date is just about crazy. It's pretty much an MMO standard now.
Stop asking the same damn questions.
No one is against server merge, this is a server merge.
It's just not the merge you want.
x.x;
Please let us know the server you are going to.FFS.

To one of the un-named ones.
Duh
Blanket merges are not as seamless as you seem to think they are. There's friction between the people who think they own they server (the original inhabitants) and the newcomers. Merges sucked in XI and they would suck in XIV. This way, no one owns the server. Yes, you have to meet some new people. No, there's nothing I can do or say to change your mind that this is a good thing.Yeah those people can just use an option that doesn't exist!

Choice is good. Just ask the Euro folks who get to congregate on one server. I've told you numerous times that I don't think your idea is necessarily bad. SE has not offered it as an option, however, and I'm not going to entertain it as a possibility until SE says something.
