    . . . What?

Why should we give them what they want if it gives us a chance to get what we want?

Just giving them the option to choose when they come back would give them what they want. Has nothing to do with how they do the current merge. If they did an A->B merge, they wouldn't have to do anything to have what they want. If they toss it up like they have now, they need to be able to choose as well. Your argument... I don't understand.

Seems to be a recurring theme in your posts.

It's very simple. Blanket world merges suck, and the method we're getting lets us choose where we want to go. It doesn't benefit people who don't play, but why should SE cater to people who don't pay or even play the game?

Your missing the point, so i'm gonna quote myself from earlier in the thread, maybe you missed it.

I am in Linkshell A. Linkshell A decide to go to server 1.

Friends 1-10 are in linkshell A too. They come to server 1. Yaaay.

    Friends 11-30 are in Linkshells B, C and D.

    Linkshells B, C and D all scatter to servers 4, 5 and 6.

    T_T.
It is highly unlikely everyone I know and care about are going to be able to act in social cohesion. Everyone has different vested interests. SE could move us ALL together (with the exceptions of people that did want to move away to another server and should still have that option.).
Then you weren't as closely knit as you supposed. I see no issue here, other than your overestimation of camaraderie among your LS mates.

Perfect. Blanket world merges do not suck, and I'd appreciate you telling me how they suck. In any case, you clearly didn't read anything other but the part that gave you a cheery feeling inside ("I don't understand.").

It's even simpler than you think. Blanket merges do not benefit players who are not playing. Neither would a free-choice merge. And coincidentally, neither does benefit the offline players.

If this was a true "choice" kind of merge, when Joe Bob logs in next year, he will be presented with a choice of worlds. He can follow his friends.

If this was a true blanket merge, Joe Bob would log in and find his friends.

    [Victory Theme]

But this isn't a true "choice" merge. They're giving us the choice, which they could easily give to the non-subs. But instead, the non-subs are going to be used as fillers for the lesser worlds and never offered a choice.

Because you support "choice" merges, it is bad that people are requesting that the non-subs get the same choice?

So for the non-subscribers, you support blanket merges, but for the paying accounts, you support choice. Care to explain?

Not all world communities are made equal, and there are some I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole. Like Besaid (no personal offense, Besaid-ers). If they decided to merge Saronia with Besaid, I'd be SOL. That would suck. Blanket merges sucked in FFXI, they'd suck in FFXIV.

And I read what you said and responded to the only thing that had relevance.

They're not being used as filler. SE probably doesn't want to waste a bunch of resources getting the logistics figured out for the method you suggest. Rightfully so.

Read what you just wrote. Do you really need me to elaborate?

Have you ever rolled a character on Besaid? I doubt it. You're too afraid of whatever to even realize that there are probably a bunch of characters like you on it.

    Not even gonna' bother.

No, I want you to explain. You've got a lot of "it should happen this way or that way" going, but never bother telling us why. Because you don't want SE devoting resources to expanding slightly on a system they've already had to develop? So we have a system that will transfer every active character to a server on a said day. Will it really be that much of a big deal to modify it so that, later, it will work for one character at a time? And even if they did, then wouldn't they have just created what they could also use to handle paid server transfers? Then, if the Besaid community happens to pick the same random server you do, you could move away.

Such naivety. Feel free to keep telling me what I've done and what I may or may not feel, though.

You wanted me to explain why paying subscribers should take precedence over people who may or may not even log in again. Paying sub > nonsub. That you're asking me to elaborate further is reason enough that I shouldn't waste the time.

The fact is there are a lot of current subs dealing with miserably small communities who need the server changes/merges sooner rather than later. You're asking for something that is ultimately pointless. If these inactive people come back for 2.0, they can pay to transfer worlds to wherever they want. Call it a "you weren't subbed so you didn't get to choose" tax.

Yeah those people can just use an option that doesn't exist!

Transfers are one time, and you get two chances anyway. Why are you against server merges if you have the option to transfer off of the server you get moved to anyways (absolutely free)?

Just to stick it to people who want to stay with their community, or come back to the game later and still play with friends?
