We pay an extra $3 for 7 extra characters, we pay $2 for a retainer, $5 for a premium companion app, all most likely to help offset the cost of the data it entails on the backend. The only way to fix housing is to charge people to cover the hardware cost. To own a house, you need pay for its infrastructure, its that simple. Sure it sucks, and it punishes people who already own a house, but the truth is Square is offering a feature it can't afford to support. Switch housing over to a pay feature, reimburse people the full value of the house, not what they paid for it after devaluation, if they would lose it if they dont change over to the service in xx days and return all their housing items, even ones normally not returned when a house is demolished. Make the service giftable so FC members can help FC leaders who can't afford it, and switch wards over to a system that dynamically adds new wards as demand requires and remove housing demolitioj now that players are footing the bill. Its pointless to offer "casual content" like housing in a game when theres more people who don't get to experience than there are who do.

I know Square Enix is a small indie studio, but not as small. Other games have working housing system even without P2P. They just don't care about fixing it.

Ofc they can fix it. As long as you are ready to not having a housing system for upwards of 6 months, losing your current house and furniture, and maybe even losing access to the game for that whole period.

A small price to pay for salvation. I would even accept offline servers for a year if they fix 1.0 code. It's not like they bless us with abundance of content for last 1-2 years.
