I had waited 2 hours on one plot with another player just to see a total rando walk up to the plaque and place a house on a plot. I imagined this devaluation timer was specifically just so such cases wouldn't happen.

I now had just waited out a 6 hour timer on a different plot, only to see it RESET to another 6 hours. What is even going on? Do I literally have to camp a spot for 24 hours for a CHANCE to get a house? What's the point of the devaulation timer if it is not going to display correct information?

The person who placed a house on the plot most likely relocated. If you own a house and relocate, you are allowed to bypass the timer.

The other time is separate, and is just calculating the devaluation. This resets every six hours. A plot could be unavailable to purchase for as short as 30 minutes or upwards of 22 hours. It is completely random.

I wish we can just cast our character name, and get a notification if we the plot. if one person acquired a plot, his/her name will be removed from other registration. And the person relocating character name is also cast. If you already own a property(account wide), or your FC does, your chances will be even lower. Almost similar to Need/Greed loot system.

This is beyond ridiculous!

You know, sometimes housing system can seem unfair when they don't have unlimited space, because you're a new player and don't have all the money to buy one. So you play up to a point when you can finally do it, but you have to wait for a house to be empty to get one. Square managed the unthinkable and make the worst of both worlds. In which you have the situation of being new, but also the situation of having the resources but not being able to buy one because of a random RNG system that serves nothing, but to lock you out of the buying option.

Might as well not even play the game between expansions. What's the point if there's nothing to sank all the gil in?

Disagree. Player housing should be for players. FC should be little more than a group chat.
