Either miss out or stay up unhealthily for hours... how many hypertension cases did Square Enix cause...
Honestly they should stop allowing FCs to buy houses. That is how people are selling houses by using these fake FCs. Just let every player buy 1 private house and that's it.
Not really. I logged in at exactly 6am and was immediately hit with a lobby error. Relaunched and by that point was 700 in queue for Cactuar. By the time I finally made it in, nearly everything was gone. Fortunately, I already have a medium and only wanted to try my luck at relocating to the Mist. Nonetheless, there is no denying the housing system in this game is absolutely horrendous.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
8 hrs now ive been camping at a house, my eyes are sore, im beginning to feel like a robot "this plot of land is not yet ready for purchase" being spammed on my screen, SE please for goodness sake dont be cruel and release the timers... its ridiculous.... nvm unhealthy for a person to be looking at a screen for so long....
A friend of mine in the game suggested this . <I- Dunno>" its not even that hard to fix: when a plot is free theres a "betting phase" that lasts for 48 hours. Every player that can purchase the plot rolls a dice (exactly like loot rolls in dungeons). After the 48 hours the player with the highest number wins. Also you can add that players that are relocating have a sort of handicap and the system favours players without previous houses"
Thank you for letting me copy and paste this comment from you dun much appreciated but yes it is a lot fairer a system than this is atm, and yes still issues with it etc etc but sheesh better than standing around for hours on end doing nothing else in game (that we all PAY for)
ok its now been 9 and half hours since waiting for a timer to clear, I now have blurred vision, a headache and feeling sick, all signs that i cannot do this for much longer in which case i just got to accept im not going to get a house (that my RNG) is as bad as ever...ok just a few minutes to go and its been 12 hrs waiting at this darned house for the timer to end
im so disappointed now

The system is rigged in favor of those who already have a house at the expense of the health of those who do not.
If relocators had to deal with the timer then SE would've fixed it by now because all housing owners would lose their minds.
The housing system itself is designed to be as toxic as humanly possible. The developers breed this sort of toxicity by openly refusing to ever fix the problem.
Nah relocating should be a thing, but if you a buy a plot you can't relocate for 14 days or something. thats the best thing to do.
Why are we discussing multiple avenues of punishing the players for working within this system when Square Enix could fix this by autoscaling their servers like MMOs with a much lower budget than this Small Indie Company can invest have done for almost a DECADE now?
Don't know, i got home at 7 pm, turned on my game at around 8, and changed location to one of the free spots in shirogane. so i cant really complain,
Maybe my server (twintania) is just not that full lol.
This patch was just an alternative to the housing timers. We have an entire city state housing area (Ishargd) of people backed up, and even those go fast. It's obvious this was going to be especially bad since all those players would funnel on a few wards. Especially after they oppenned housing access to personals.
It isn't something you can use to represent what the situation is. A lot of things led to the funneling of players today that wouldn't ordinarily be a thing in the lifecycle of the game.
With that said, I feel for those that were disapointed today. SE will hopefully take note. Good luck on the remaining timers, hopfully those aren't clogged full of people. And there's always next time with ishgard and the potential days they open housing timers again. It'll come soon enough. Housing is something to play over long periods. I ignored housing 99% of my playtime, just had an appartment, only spending time on it at key points (ward releases, enabling of housing timers, new city states, etc. etc). Getting a house was a smooth process for me since I dispersed my efforts over 2 years (but it took 2 years), it might be a worthwhile approach for someone reading this.
Also keep in mind that you can placard camp for an hour at a time. You don't need to do the entire duration. The only difference is that statistically you'll take about 10% more time on average to get a house compared to usual. And on average it takes as many hours to get a house (camping time) as it does to clear an ultimate with a midtier+ group. Obviously it's dreadfully teadious compared and way more subject to variance in "clear time", but keep a healthy pace of an 30mn- hour a day or something while you wait for extra cities/wards/timers. You should get there eventualy.
