Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
All for this, just be as clear as possible when asking for the live letter, last thing want is SE to go overboard and remove more important confirmation windows. For example Extract can easily have its removed but Retrieve should keep its confirmation window.
I'd also like Retrieve materia be renamed to Remove materia, the 1st time I saw Extract and Retrieve I was nervous which did what, it's a 1 time thing but it is needlessly named too similar to each other.
Haha I actually made a post to Reddit about this very thing a while back: https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...us_every_time/All for this, just be as clear as possible when asking for the live letter, last thing want is SE to go overboard and remove more important confirmation windows. For example Extract can easily have its removed but Retrieve should keep its confirmation window.

Even though I know the difference it was still a bit concerning each time I clicked on it because it would always pop up the confirmation window. Things like "extract" and "retrieve" being so similar are like when you go to the GC to buy something and can't remember whether it's under "Material" or "Materials" (although perhaps not quite to that level of bad).
Anyway, for Retrieve Materia, here's a good work-around for that:
First, move "Retrieve Materia" to a sub-tier of commands that are used less often than others. You can do this by clicking System → Character Configuration → Item Settings → Subcommand Customization (Open), and then move "Retrieve Materia" over to the Second Tier column on the right. You can even turn off certain options, but I wouldn't recommend that. Personally, I've moved "Retrieve Materia," "Desynthesis," "Discard," and "Link" all to the Second Tier. When I click on an item, this is now what it looks like:
Second, add the "Materia Extraction" button to one of your hotbars. You can find this under Character → Actions & Traits → General. I personally use both the Materia Extraction and Repair buttons as I find that it saves me time from having to open the Character window each time (although you still have to deal with the annoying confirmation windows).

So... going all the way out to the Waking Sands, the Rising Stones, or your house or FC house isn't "specifically going out of your way"? If someone has gone to any of these places, they want to enter - there is literally no other reason for being within interaction range of the doors for these instances other than to enter. These things do not need a "failsafe."
I started playing less than a year ago and I'm already finding all of the confirmation windows that I raised on the original post a huge inconvenience. Once you get all the riding maps, minions, orchestrion rolls, etc. that you can buy with Allied and Centurio seals, the only thing left to get with them is Aethertye Tickets or Ventures. Hunt trains as well as the Masked Carnival give you a ridiculous amount of seals, so I generally have no less than 300 Aethertye Tickets and Ventures at any given time, and I don't do either of these seal-granting activities very often. Players should at least be able to disable the confirmation windows in the UI settings or SE should set the default to "Yes."
The repair window by default tries to repair whatever class you have equipped. Anyway, even on my lower-level classes I still use Grade 7 Dark Matter because it's annoying having to carry around different types. It's not that expensive in any event and it lasts for a lot longer than vendor repairs because it repairs you +100% instead of just to 100%.
Don't ever complain when that important piece of gear disappears when you desynthesize it accidentally. Or throw it out of your bags accidentally because you clicked the wrong bag slot.
There are forum posts all over the place about such things happening. The default is "No" for a reason.
That's a nice strawman, but I did not raise Desynthesis as one of the confirmation windows in my original post. If you'd actually read my post literally a couple of posts up, you'd see that I actually have moved Desynthesis, Retrieve Materia, and Discard to a sub-menu to prevent any issues with them.Don't ever complain when that important piece of gear disappears when you desynthesize it accidentally. In general they seem to have misunderstood what a confirmation is about, and why it exists. In general terms, you have one when the consequence of the user doing something could have serious ramifications. So, if you are in a word processing program and try to close it without saving, the software will ask if you want to save before closing, since it's a reasonable enough assumption to say it would be really bad if somebody was careless about not saving often and maybe accidentally closed it.
If there is minor or no consequence in a bad action, or the user can immediately undo the ramifications of their action, you don't need a confirmation. Like, if something takes the player from one point to another in a dungeon, you don't need to ask them. If somehow they made a mistake by all four players advancing after defeating a boss and nobody grabbed the loot but wanted it, this rare case can be remedied by somebody using return, or having a reverse portal. Not worth the 99.99% situations when NOBODY WANTS THAT PROMPT.
Just an example. It is not hyperbole to say 75% of this game's prompts can be taken out to improve usability as it is. 90% of them can be taken out with smarter UX and better design. Some of the prompts are there for a good reason, or could be made even better. For example, you don't need to ask the user if they want to buy x gear, then ask them if they want to buy gear they can't equip. Make a prompt that achieves both.

You can add the "Do you want to pay 2000 gil for the barber?!
Yes I want to why do you think I called the damn guy?!
What would the "mistake" be, though? Entering/leaving a building despite being within interaction range of the door? Repairing your gear? Extracting materia from a fully spirit-bonded piece of gear (which no longer destroys it)? Paying 10 MPG to play a quick round of Mini-Cactpot? I'm not suggesting getting rid of the confirmation window / changing the default thereof to "Yes" for things like Discard, Desynthesis, or Retrieve Materia.
As Esmoire put it, there shouldn't be confirmation windows for things with minor consequences.
