I blame mainly WoW players. Very toxic and ignorant. I remember back in ARR when we were doing binding coils of bahamut with my static - we had a married couple. A tank and healer. They sucked. When given advice they brushed it off claiming "We were in the top 3 guilds of WoW, we know what to do" and blah blah, yea. Most WoW players have a sense of self-entitlement. However not all WoW players are like this. It has gotten really bad as every year passes and more and more players from WoW converge over here. Just look at how many WoW refugee videos are on Youtube.

I'm not defending the former but the latter, struggling with something or changing a habit isn't an 'excuse' unless you're not trying at all, and there are dungeons like Keeper of the Lake, The Vault, or Bardam's Mettle that can butcher a tank if they miscalculate or aren't careful and a tank being a little overly cautious due to inexperience shouldn't be frown upon, but we can agree to disagree on that.

PS: I have 2 friends who started tanking with GNB, so yes, it's definitely possible to be a completely new tank at 60. Though to be fair, most people would also have a basic understanding of how dungeons work by then too, even though a target dummy is nowhere near the same as the real deal where everyone likes running around like a headless chocobo.

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

But recently I have been seeing a lot of new players, I like new players. Shiny little creatures with that little tiny seedling. They come and announce "I am a new tank here" and that's amazing. I want to help you any way I can.

Then the healer states "Pull large, I got this." The tank continues to state they are uneasy pulling large amounts, they try, we wipe, I say slow down, take your time. The healer gets pissy, threatens to leave, I initiate the kick vote, it fails, he leaves.

    Summary: Whats with the drama?

I come from ARR, when HW was new and shiny. I had my fair share of idiots, we all have. But when there's new people we should banding together to help them, not rush through because we can.

The other side of that coin is new players coming from other games "well this isn't so and so, so it sucks" Or you give them advice, I have little tanking experience, but one time the tank could not keep argo, I told him the particular skill to use (the one where spikes come up through the ground, spacing on the name) and he gets all snippy. "In wow this is how I played, it works more or less the same here, you just suck"

I'm sorry you entitled, spoiled little brat - but I am trying to help you be a better player.

Christ. What is happening? From the mass zerg (GW2 term) farms for hunts to the rampant attack against and from new players. Every day is a fight through either super silent dungeons aside from the intial: "o/" to the constant use of (in some cases) the N word or other racial slurs.

I get it, shadowbringers was awesome, we bout to get some good eggs, some bad eggs and some rotten eggs. But recently it seems the old guard attacking the newer generation and the newer generation assuming "this is like "x" game, shut up".

Any one else notice this or am I on drugs?

If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

I think a tank learning to pull large who failed shouldn't be told to slow down.
They should try again, so they can learn their cooldown rotations and how to better manage the mob pack all while avoiding AOEs and stuff.

Telling people to dial it back after one single wipe doesn't help teach anyone anything.

This is how I learned. I just got back up, dusted myself off and was like I am going to try again and again till I learn this. Thankfully the groups I was in when I was first getting big boy pulls under my belt were understanding and okay with it.

Either way, toxicity isn't new, and you have a right to choose to not deal with it or be pushed around by toxic players. This includes reporting them for harassment, hate speech, or whatever it is they're doing that's a problem. Assuming it's a prohibited activity, of course.
StarCraft 1, it's the name of one of the 3 main factions, which is famous for rush tactics with small units.

The toxicity has ALWAYS been there, I have a friend who has RP and when we talk he always tells me about the amount of dramas, threats and mafias that the RP world has in this game lol

Petty much? Accept large pulls have been the normal for 7 years
