Remove Gender-Locked Class/Weapon Poses

Just wanna say that the issue with giant swords and why they're so hard to swing IRL is because the weight distribution is loaded into the blade. If you make the handle much longer, and somewhat wider, than it would be easier to lift and to swing. Would still get you killed trying to use it though, since you wouldn't be able to swing it all that fast lol

Most of the FFXIV great swords do have very long and wide handles, but usually I don't think they measure up still for either purpose, if real world physics were going to be a thing. That said, there are plenty of smaller great swords in the game like the Diamond Great sword or the earlier ones like the GC Estramacon and Zweihanders and stuff. Still a bit big, but every weapon in this game is unrealistically large and unwieldy. Like I mean, just look at the Sandungs "daggers," or the Ancient "sword."

If you want or expect realism, this is not the game for you.

Honestly I would love to have more poses in general. This would be a good start. Particular ones that I would love to have are the female katana pose and the great sword pose. I find the male katana pose to be really dumb looking, and it even gets dunked on as stupid in the SAM questline lol.

I mean I'm totally satisfied with the F pose, but sometimes... I just want to hold my sword like the dumb neckbearded edgy weaboo that I am.

This is another one of those things where if it existed the other way around (both genders had both poses and someone suggested dividing them one to each gender to decrease homogenization), there'd be outcries of "lol that's bait, troll thread" and that suggestion would be flamed and ridiculed.

However, since it exists people will defend it to the death merely because it exists, so they assume it's a good thing somehow.

I'm perfectly fine with restrictions based on gender and race. Be this poses, animations, or even glamour.
On that line I've been wanting more RSE for a long time. Doesn't seem like it's going to happen though.

Whether they have to implement them as emotes, idles, whatever - I'm at the point that trying to take character screenshots is feeling repetitive because I already used all the good ones three times over.

A few more emotes like the current "strike a pose" one would be great, whether they're character-specific or universal.

That's a mood. I've been going through the animations I have with a fine-tooth comb to find individual frames that are worth using because I've used them all so much already. It would be nice to have something besides a book or new facial expression to use.

look i will point how much this relate to models they use for the game. it very heavy great sword they what pose to be life like is woman going hold her great over her back or some way benfit her. i like male samuri pose but i realize that men and women different how hold a weapon is different special weapon that weigh alot a 6 foot great sword is different depend on weilder be male or female. i think add addiction pose for male and female would be nice yet we need remember how the human body strength divide in male and female and how they going hold weapon depend on that body strength look i remember when dev use design for gaming they use live models sometime for gaming design and character design aswell

this may be demand that is never able to be meet by the dev or any devs on planets because the human body between the sex are different as alway will be different

If we're going to bring realism into the equation. Delete Dark Knight now as neither gender could realistically hold a great sword that size and actually wield the thing. In fact, weapon smiths have made real life replicas of Cloud and Sephiroth's swords and the proportions are absurd. Cloud's sword weighed 75 lbs. That's a little more than a third the weight of the average American male. Not only would you severely damage your wrists and back attempting to swing around something that heavy on a consistent basis, the sheer force if you actually could muster up the strength would nearly break your arms.

Put simply, great swords are the embodiment of "rule of cool." There is absolutely no realism to their existence. At least not the ones in most fantasy genre.
