There's like no reason to have an alt when you can be all classes/jobs on one character. Stop playing with dolls and play the game.

I see an alt in this game like choosing a new save file on another final fantasy. Aka a brand new game from ground 0.
I think you should be able to mail stuff to alts that is unbound. But as for sharing things like mounts, bound gear, costumes, achievements, story progression, ect. I would say no to that.
One of the games features of the final fantasy mmos, and in my opinion a really good one, is you can do everything from 1 character. I do not need Xatsh, Xatshy, XatshA, XatshB, XatshC to experience everything. The option is there for those who want to have just 1 character and the option is there to have multiple.
People who take the time to lvl alts already have a pretty big advantage due to how the weekly lockout system, I do not think they should get anything else besides maby some QoL with mailing other characters on the account and the ability to share houses with all characters on your account.
Depends on the patch cycle. Will its true that you only can 3 specialisations active at each, you have the possibility to change them if needed and lets be honest how often you do that?
I've had to switch a few times to make housing stuff / orch rolls recently, because they made those specialist locked again for no real reason (and its probably the reason ruby weapon orch roll sells for up to 100x the cost of the faded scroll). It takes about as long to switch around specializations as it does to go through the process of getting mats to a crafter alt in a different FC (which requires an additional alt to mule things back and forth).
I dont have alts because I want to have alts, I have alts because I have to have alt FC's with houses to do as much gardening (AND buying a few friends houses so i can use their gardens) and sub/ship voyaging as I want to do. (And to get weekly capped beast tribe mats and custom delivery fueled scrip mats for the .3 crafting/gathering gear)
If you told me I could pay gil to buy an instanced area I could crossbreed 20+ plots of crops on, I'd plop down tens of millions on it in a heartbeat. If I could do the same to let 1 FC have 8/16/24/64/ect active voyage slots, I'd do that too.

I've actually always viewed my alts just this way! Glad I'm not the only one. The only thing I would like to do is be able to share my house and mail between them. I personally don't worry about achievements and things like that between alts. My main is what I will focus on doing everything on. My alts are mainly just to play with friends located where my main can't travel (or for those on the same server as my main - for crafting reasons).I see an alt in this game like choosing a new save file on another final fantasy. "Run when you have to, fight when you must, rest when you can." - Elyas Machera, The Wheel of Time
I'm probably getting baited here, but on the off chance it wasn't I'll recap a few reasons why you would make alts:
- Play with friends on a different datacenter
- Play with friends on your datacenter without them losing loot in savage.
- Play "doll" and RP which is a legit way people can enjoy a game they payed for. Funny how that works.
I'm sure there are more I can't think of.
Ah, yeah, have had those. It's unfortunate. I used to RP back in WoW years ago, and we'd always get people showing up in known rp spots and just messing around or spamming abilities or doing nonsense "rp" where they can ofc magically see your name over your head and know things they shouldn't about your character. More mildly irritating than anything most of the time, but man.
Not liking a hobby is one thing, but harassing people because they do? That just makes you a jerk and a bully, or at absolute best, it makes you rude and immature.
Bit of a micro vent but yeah, I can understand why people would want their RP to be a little more private.
Actually your rant reminds me, I did have one a few weeks ago. Showed up to our FC house as we run socials, they tried to do an armed robbery, threatened to burn the place down, then "burnt" it down, god modding. And then told us how bad we are at RP for not reacting to them burning the place. building. Trolling did not work, I went along with it up until the point they started god modding and it's canon that they were shot dead on leaving the building. We run a pirate theme there, so walking up to a captain and threatening them is well, gonna have you wind up dead anyway. If they were serious and generally thought godmodding an RP was how people do things, the moment they pull out a flame thrower is the moment they get shot, let alone be able to burn down a mansion.
Hmm, which meme shall I go with?
"You don't pay my sub"
"Cool story bro"
or
"Don't tell me what to do, you're not my real mum"
So you basicly saying that you are blocking intentionally plots that could be used by other ppl with all your alts, because you are a greedy little lala that never gets enough and cares more about money than fairness.I dont have alts because I want to have alts, I have alts because I have to have alt FC's with houses to do as much gardening (AND buying a few friends houses so i can use their gardens) and sub/ship voyaging as I want to do. The limit for subs and ships is there for a reason, i can understand that its tempting to use all the alts your can to get easy more mats and money with such a bad design system. In an ideal situation with competent game designers every account should only be able to have one player and fc house on each server, of course all your char would share the same house and bank than.
Yes.So you basicly saying that you are blocking intentionally plots that could be used by other ppl with all your alts, because you are a greedy little lala
I own multiple FC's that have houses for the sole purpose of having more submarines and garden plots. I'm also always open to buy another one from abandoned FC's if the price is right.
I got those plots the same way anyone else has the ability to, seeing as the last one got its house the last time wards were expanded. This is especially true on Coeurl, who still has a few open plots in the previously FC only wards.
I do not and will not apologize for jumping through the hoops of stupidity I had to jump through in order to garden and send out subs, seeing as its allowed for by the game. I'd have one for each of my Fc holding alts too if I could.
I also dont apologize for funding ~80mil worth of other peoples house purchases, in that time either. I at least use the houses I have, and fully decorate them, because its nice to look at.
I'm better for property values than 75% of homeowners in this game.
