If I cannot get progress one step from completion and build 11 stacks in my first 200-300 CP, I either quit (usually after rolling the dice on un-Centered Patient Touches and failing) or finish the craft with tier 1/2 collectibility. In the time it takes to rehabilitate a flagging craft and drag it over the finish line with Hasty Touches and Tricks of the Trade, you can just craft another item for more points.
Some new feedback after all these posts. I will not post a rotation. Last one ruined crafting difficulty.

I use a 30 step rotation, yes a rotation. Not macroable, but repeatable and it takes about 2 minutes for 50-max quality.
Quitting point is step 11. But recoverable in last 3 steps if you saved cp from pliants as it is bonus and not required.
Any cp saved during any step improves your average quality.
Goods are used for quality. This is why the big quality range.
635 cp required.
