Hahaha, I won't deny that they look pretty odd. That just makes me like them more though. :PI'm only dumb sometimes! Bangaa really do look dumb though, I wasn't even joking. They are like off brand alligators. By that I mean, alligators being knockoff crocodiles, they are a knock off of a knock off. Like, they look like they have some sort of birth defect.
LOOK AT THIS DUDE
He's probably thinking "kill me now". Plus SE would have to humanize them to even have shoes. Talking making them look even dumber than they already look!![]()
To me they're a pretty classic Final Fantasy race.
.....False. Both the Viera and the Hrothgar, ARE finished Races. They were Made exactly as intended, Male Only & Female Only.
It was already explained why they did it this way, it was to Fulfill 2 requests at the same time: Viera, and a Beast Race, and because "This may well be they're last chance to make any new races. Because of the Time and resources it takes make a race to begin with, as well as the QA, and the Thousands of Gear Pieces they will have to adjust to fit the races." I might have paraphrased some of that, but otherwise they said this.
We were Never Promised ""The Missing Genders"" But they DID in fact say that they are Working on getting the Hrothgar and the Viera they're own Unique Hairstyles.
They didn't give us a Date WHEN, but they did say THAT was happening. Im also sure the "Paying a Fantasia to change hair" thing will be addressed to.
And I don't recall if they made an official statement, but Im pretty sure behind the scenes they are working on the Headgear situation. The Viera's issue is the Ears, I guess they don't want huge clipping with the ears, might have to redesign alot of gear with Earholes. And the Hrothgar the issue is they're Non-Human Beast Faces. So stuff like Helmets would have to be COMPLETELY redesigned to fit them. Because the original Base models were designed for Humanoid Faces.
No, they were never intended to have the same amount of options as other races.
They were never going to get hats and helms, this was a design choice made in the conceptual stages for the development for these races. The devs out right said that they were never gonna get them. Their ears are legit sitting in the hat slot in-game so that they can have customization options for them.
They were never going to get all the old hair styles shared between the races (Even when the devs said they would get SOME of them, the ones that could work on them, they made it clear that they would never have the same amount as other races. The most recent thing said makes it sound like they simply wont give them shared hairs at all in favor of making some amount of new race hair so we'll see).
So yeah, they're finished. You may not like the limits but that's not an accident, it's by design. It would be like walking into someone's air BnB and saying they're not done decorating this room cause you don't like how it lacks the xmas lights and throw pillows of their other rooms. Or it's like calling Blu an unfinished Job because they can't que for current end game content. That's your personal desires, if they decided to make a race or job with limited options then said race/ job is not forever unfinished.

dropping missing genders mid expansion is like dropping an album thats not abiavle for purchase. Its literally stupid to think they would drop something this huge and requested in the middel fo an expac. I sya 6.0 is looking pretty likelyPersonally I never expected SE if they were going to add them for them to add them mid expansion, though if 6.0 comes and goes with no news then at that point I would say it would be time to gice up hope. Anyone who thought the missing genders would be added mid expansion were expecting far too much in mu opinion.
I will never stop supporting male Viera und female Hrothgar even if we might never get them in the end. It is true that there was never a promise they would add them but this should not stop people from requesting what they really care about. Whatever it is.
Personally I don't even care that much about hats (I never use any on my Miqo boy) or hairstyles (since I usually only switch between 2 or 3 styles) but it would be nice if we got more for Viera and Hrothgar in the future, especially since SE already adressed those requests for male Hrothgar and female Viera. However, it would be fine with me should the new races not get every hat or hairstyle that is currently in the game because I believe implementing them costs the devs a lot of time they could invest into other kinds of content.
It just baffles me that Hrothgar's hair is tied to their faces and that the new races are not able to use the hairstyles players spent RL money on...
What baffles me even more is that the hrotgar hairstyles were an actual conceptual decision. Who, just who chose that?I will never stop supporting male Viera und female Hrothgar even if we might never get them in the end. It is true that there was never a promise they would add them but this should not stop people from requesting what they really care about. Whatever it is.

I know its certainly not a confirmation promise or tease of any sorts, but the fact tha they're cutting so much content could MAYBE (this is in no way confirmed) that they are perhaps doing it so they can release male viera and female hrotgar in 6.0 and lift the current genders restrictions. That combined with us most likely seeing female hrothgar in 5.25-5.5 through bozja makes me think the chances of us getting missing genders at 6.0 are really high. Now we just have to be patiend and hopefully in a year and a few months from now we will finally be able to play the character we've been consistantly asking SE to put in for so long (literally been wanting male viera since 2.0) and female vieras and male hrotgars can get to the state that they should have been released in in the first place. Also on the developer blog, MAYBE (unlikely though) we will get more details into their decision making and perhaps (also not likely) see some sort of tease or indication that they are working on the missing genders and/or lifting the restrictions
In the end, they are cutting content they deem low priority, most likely in view of the ARR rework, and also because it has occupied a lot of their text translation stuff. As I said, this is realistically what a company ought to do in the first place, as not all content is made equal, and they know this. I am hoping that we are going to see texture and character customisation upgrades come 6.0, but if they decide to add the missing genders then, I will be pleasantly surprised.
I think its unlikely that they're just cutting content because they dont prioritize them as much. I'd understand it with PVP or things like that, but theyre cutting ultimates, theyre cutting dungeons, we are getting less fashion than ever (and most ofi tsi ts recolors), this patch getting like 4 sets that look decent and arent reworked? we are basically getting story a nieceh system raids and a little tiny bit of fashio nand isde content. This isnt something I think they would just do because. I think there's possibly a reason behind it. I think its kinda unlikely they'll revamp graphics since they look just fine but its possible, and as for customization upgrades, I count missing genders there so I really hope they get to it. Overall, this could just mean the team is tired or that they just are planning something else, but one can hopeIn the end, they are cutting content they deem low priority, most likely in view of the ARR rework, and also because it has occupied a lot of their text translation stuff.
