I was currently talking to a friend about the races of FFXIV and we both agreed that there are not enough options to create a handsome and mature looking guy. Either they look goofy, overly cute, like a child, boring, edgy or have a body type which we do not like, for example Au Ra with their wide hips. Hopefully Viera will fit us better should they ever be implemented

Yeah, unfortunately that's what happens when too many compromises are made. I'd really like an option to play a guy that is tall, well-built and with a classically handsome/ruggedly handsome face design along the lines of Jecht, Snow or Gladio. I really like the way in which Highlander men are built but their faces - and lack of eyebrows - leave much to be desired. Roegadyn and Hrothgar are far too bulky for my tastes. Elezen are far too lanky and weirdly proportioned. Au Ra are...alright, though as you say the hips are too wide which makes a lot of gear look odd on them. Miqo'te are too short and...well, Midlanders ended up being the best compromise simply because they're classically handsome and don't have as many issues as the other options.

well with the new relic quest linked to Ivalice,related to Hrothgar and quest is written by Matsuno himself there's at least hope of seeing at least one of the two missing genders
i wont get my hopes up but if they are gonna reveal them it will be in that quest line since its a bit random that it has alot of Ivalice and Hrothgar relevance.

I was thinking this as well. It absolutely doesn't mean anything yet, but I do wonder if they'll ask for his input on certain other relevant topics since they're keeping him around?

Considering the questline is titled Save the Queen, we better see that sword or a queen Hrothgar or something is clearly mislabled

Well the quest itself is called save the queen its not a stretch for a quest name reference to overlap
Especially considering how good ff localization is

They COULD tease female hrothgar.... or they could just have her sitting off screen in the back of a gated off cave like the sahagin queen in Ondo Cups....
