As for points being made against it because 'its just glamour', glamour is a selling point and AFAIK, this benefits everyone, not just a select few.

It is indeed a selling point. So how much resources are you willing to spend to sell that point? ShB has been pretty good thus far, would you agree? And this is despite all the time and money that went into bringing the Viera and Horthgar into FFXIV, and when you think about it, race is just another glamour option. Devs can do magical things with very little time. Now imagine what they could have done with this expansion if we didn't get Viera and Hrothgar. Just give that a chew for a minute.

That's what I think about when it comes to glamour. I won't deny its importance, but I also understand its futility when greater priorities exist. Both Viera and Hrothgar are currently incomplete, and I'm not talking about the opposite gender not being available. They are incomplete because those who choose to play these two races do not have the same amount of options available to them as the other races. And this includes their exclusive options as well. Headgear, hairstyles, hempen sets; they need all of those things, and if I was playing one of these two races, I would be pretty steamed if that other races got even more options.

I'd love to see them add a set for Viera and unlock them all but keep them named by the race they started being locked to - with like, flavor text of "an outfit in the traditional style of [x] clan" or whatever. Let everyone wear them with some homage to whoever "designed" it to begin with.

Honestly I find it dumb the designs are diffrent per races outside the helmets which is reasonable.. The body,Legs honestly shouldn't have different appearence just play around with the size. Just create a item thats diffrent for each item that has diffrent appearence based on race.

Funny that people bring up Viera and Hrothgar getting old Hemp sets.

I look at their starter gear and figured the devs thought it basically looks like underwear so why bother making a unique Hemp set. I very clearly remember wondering what they would do for racial "underwear" sets designed for 2 races that look like their wearing lingerie and leather kink gear by default. (Perhaps they should have made more conservative race gear and made their current race gear the hemp top/ bottom.) So yeah, think the devs just gave em the underwear that already works for the models and rigs they were design from.

Anyway, no, I LIKE and want MORE race limits. Adds uniqueness to your character. Just like race hairs.
I like being able to run around in the Femroe sports bra or starter top/ arms with my race hair and know that no one can copy that save for the other 15 or so Femroes on the DC.
