So, does anyone else read the Patch Notes and deduct that you need to do the MSQ to unlock Savage?.

But you don't? To unlock Eden Savage, you just need to Eden Normal, which is unlocked by doing the quest "Away with the Faerie", which only needs you do to the quests for the first set of Eden floors.

Only Ruby weapon needs the first quest of the MSQ done, presumably to explain why Gaius is talking to the Alliance.
