really? people actually "liked" this absolute trash of a reply? You know, you could play PvP anytime you want, right? I took a one year hiatus in the midst of the GARO event and came back two months before it ended and yet did manage to obtain all mounts and titles from said collaboration. Just because I actually put in some effort.
Besides - those rewards for different gamemodes are incentives for players to actually try out said features and modes. If you'd obtain everything just by being logged in, what even is the point of playing a game? You get gifts on your birthday and for christmas already.
shame on those that did
What's wrong with it in your opinion?
All that FirstnameLastname did was take initiative to get the mounts he wanted from PVP and said to work hard for rewards that the plethora of FFXIV content provides if one really wants them in their collection.

isnt that how games work? what do you want exactly? log in and just get everything? then theres no reason to play the game and you would post how easy everything is to get. they are rewards for playing the game. what would be the point of playing this game then? iam rly confused about this post.
Firstname Lastname says a lot of stupid things.
Well this blew up. I guess I need to make clarifications now.
I am not asking to be awarded things for logging in. I would like the opportunity to get them but a great number of them are unobtainable through normal play.
PvP in this game is beyond terrible and absolutely not fun. It's an ungodly stressor that raises my blood pressure, like most PvP games do. I didn't come here for PvP and judging by the replies I don't think most people did either. If you have to have super exclusive rewards because no one would play your PvP otherwise, then maybe the PvP needs to be overhauled so that people will want to play it. The fact that everything is tied to victories makes it worse, since this automatically leads to tryharding, screaming, and the fact that every PvP person goes to Mael which is why they win 99% of the time. The Feast is even worse since items like the Mag Roader are gone forever and they only gave like 100 away to people who do nothing but PvP. That just makes no sense at all. Again, if you need to bar people out of content to get people to play your PvP then there's a problem with your PvP.
GARO. I came into this game very late in it's lifespan, in patch 4.5. I had no idea about most of the GARO awards until there was less than a week to claim them, you know because I was doing MSQ for most of this time. I had moved to the Adder to pick up their exclusive items, and I was stuck there for 15 days. Not able to move GCs until the very minute GARO was locked into the vault forever. Since Mael is where all the PvP players coagulate, meaning Mael wins 99% of Frontlines and freelancing has a precisely 0% chance of landing you on Mael, I could not get the rewards. So I spent a week of my life futiley throwing myself at Frontline and didn't get any of the mounts and only some of the armor pieces.
I'm well aware of the fact that a number of items tend to end up on the Mogstation, but the prices on the Mogstation are ridiculously high. I'm sorry but no one should EVER be paying $30 for a mount and leaving that as the only way to get most of the past event items smacks of being greedy. I know you all want to use the excuse of "Square needs to make money!" but I don't think Square needs money that badly. They don't even put the stuff on sale ever. Furthermore, not all the stuff ends up on the Mogstation. The Regalia isn't there. I have it, but one of my friends started playing a couple months ago so she has no way to get one. Also there are minions that you can only get with out of print box items. I'm sorry, but that's also completely screwed up. If the box set or soundtrack can't sell itself, then attaching in-game items to it is just a sign of greed.
One other thing, when exactly did playing FFXIV become my job, and if it's now my job why am I paying Squeenix instead of them paying me?
Don't get me wrong, I love this game. I love it a lot, but that's also why I need to point out things that make the game less enjoyable.
How to be entitled brat!!!
Drop to the ground pound your fists, kick your feet and scream cause the game is not showering you with all the goodies you want. Want to be showered with goodies like a spoiled rotten child, go play mobile games cause thats exactly what they do.
I agree that pvp needs work, but if the rewards wasnt there then they would be somewhere else. That's just how those things go. Shit I'd take that over ovetwatches system all day everyday. The garo event wasnt completely under SE's control. So when their partner says they gotta go. Well... they gotta go. I get that it sucks, but and I hate to say it like this but... if you want the items then you have to put aside the time to do em. Or in some cases put aside the money for em. This will never go away as that's literally the world we live in. Everything cost something. And not everything will be behind things we like.
